I really hope this isn't a silly question but what does the lyrics in the original SM intro song "Moonlight Densetsu " talking about? Now I know they are talking about love but I would like to know what the lyrics mean and the song itself as well. I received the original SM DVDS in the mail recently and this was actually my first time listening and reading the lyrics of Moonlight Densetsu so I need a little help with it. Thanks.

I like the original more, but I still think that the English version is cool too. But only the instrumentals, the lyrics are for kids, seriously. ^^° I mostly forget about them...

Forget them, how can ya. They're too catchy. Seriously I remembered them just by hearing the background music on tuxedomask.com. (its also been like 5 years sense I heard the lyrics too.

Anyway, the Swedish version I must say is not like any theme song lyrics I've read--its pure poetry. Talk about a "classy" theme or something like that.

Actually I must say was a little shocked...well suprised really (give or take the plesantly) when I saw the intro of the subbed version.

Interesting I must say. And the music for JPN version is definetly more mature sounding (serious, dramatic, etc).

I like the english theme batter. I mean from memery i am writing them now hehe

Fighting evil by moonlight,
winning love by daylight,
never running from a real fight,
she is the one names Sailor Moon.

She will never turn her back on a friend,
she She is always there to defend,
She is the one on whom we can depend,
She is the one named Sailor.....

Sailor Venus,
Sailor Mercury,
Sailor Mars,
Sailor Jupiter!

With secret powers,
All so new to her,
She is the one named Sailor Moon.

Fighting evil by moonlight,
Winning love by daylight,
With her Sailor Scouts to help fight,
She is the one named Sailor Moon,
She is the one.... Sailor Moon!

Sorry i hear this every day then switch the audio to Japanese and listen to Moonlight Legend (densetsu) hehe, Love both theme tunes. Oh yeah then iput on Sailor Stars and start singing as well.

It's at least a lot better than some other dub theme songs. *coughcardcaptorscough*
*sings* But when this mighty book was opened, the powers was [sic] set freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

>________< And no one at Nelvana thought that line sounded weird?
Am I the only one who doesn't remember that opening song? I always got the English version of "Catch you catch me". I even remember some of the lyrics! Maybe it was an Australian thing?

Anyway, back on topic.

The dubbed theme of SM will always bring back memories of saturday morning cartoons to me, so I really can't hate it. But compared to Moonlight Densetsu, it's um....not very good. As said, the lyrics are misleading and very unresearched, and it just gives you an overview of the plot, basically.

Everytime I hear the English Sailor Moon theme, I die a little on the inside. Seriously. I think it's awful. I don't even have any fond memories regarding it, as I saw the German dub first anyway.

Even though I've watched the dub longer than the original Japanese SM episodes, I prefer the original SM Opening Song "Moonlight Densetsu". The lyrics to the song are beautiful and it makes a lot more sense and isn't inaccurate like the English dub lyrics. BUT the English dub song is OK too.

DiC was obviously on something when they write the song, it doesn't match up to the series at all.
