let's calm down before things get out of hand.
lazyasianboi: try not to work in the fact that you can't stand ADV's job on SM into every post you make,p lease.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I saw at DDD that the first S disc will also be a signature re-release. Shouldn't you guys post this stuff as new somewhere?

I'd like to get S so are all the discs going to be re-released cheaper like this? Or should I just continue waiting for a boxset?

I think all three movies are going to be re-released separately as well as a boxset with the new signature...let's hope the cover art will be great! Actually, I like the old R movie cover. It's a nice and new image of Serenity. I wonder where they got it?

whats a DDD? um, not to be rude but heres a suggestion. when posting a forum, most people cant understand what your typing when its in initials. And, that would be cool! I would really like the S discs to be re made. Its not like they did a bad job, but it was mostly just plain, and it wasnt very good quality for the most part. I'd really like to see the new boxes, and how they turned out

A DDD is a Dedede. A King Dedede!

Nah I'm just kidding! It's a site many an anime fan knows well. At least the ones I've come across.

Not much info given but it has the release date and their price. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=PIO012165

I'd buy all of S for $14.87 apiece! That'd make it cost as much as the SMC and SMR did!

Well, I haven't bought, nor seen any of the movies, so maybe I'll get this set.

Edit 1: Bah, forgive me for what I did.

It's one thing to slightly drift off topic when something comes up, but it's another when an entire post is off topic and a thread already exists on that topic. Usagi, please edit your post to be on topic, and direct your orginal passage to http://www.unemploymentweekly.com/~mari ... .php?t=120 where heavy discussion on ADV's boxes exist. EVERYONE direct entire posts of ADV's boxes there, thank you.

The "Dream Boxed Set" (the first box) contains both the dubbed & edited English version, and the uncut subtitled originals, and it costs about 80$ (I'm rounding it off here people). But I believe that this particular box-set release is only uncut-subbed version of the three movies. The product details don't say anything about an English audio track, only English subtitles. So, that's probably why it only costs about 40$.

Maybe Pioneer/Geneon decided to release a "just subbed version" for the fans who didn't want to pay 40 extra dollars for a crappy dub just so they could watch the sub…

I am personally happy with the decision!

I dunno. I kind of wanna see the "uncut" dub to hear the English voices amongst the Japanese music, even though I already own the edited dub on VHS.

I've seen all the movies subbed on VHS anyway. I think I'll waste, er, spend my money on other things, like the series.

Or buying Tiff some SMU-themed lint... :3

Well, I agree with NameGoesHere that maybe that they wanted to release the subtitled movies so we wouldn't shell out $30 bucks a pop just to get the bilingual DVD and watch it in Japanese. I think what they're doing (besides getting more $$) is re-releasing it so we can buy it on our DVDs (since VCRs are pretty much history) and see it. I mean, they are releasing Sailor Moon in Japanese for DVD right? It's kinda confusing, but you kinda get my point.

I personally wouldn't, as I find the movies to be overrated. They're like one-hour episodes with better animation. -_-;

But yes, 40 bucks is really cheap. That's what Discount Anime DVD is asking for its bootleg set of movies. A price better than bootlegs is practically unheard of.

I really wonder if they will include the specials...since it is English-subbed only? Gah! Geneon's site never works correctly.

ALL RIGHT! SMU-THEMED LINT!

40 bucks is pretty damned cheap, like Anthy said, but I also have them on VHS and won't waste my money buying them on DVD

You hit the nail on the head.

Most people know Pioneer. Most people don't know Geneon. In order to get their name out, they're re-releasing some of their older but popular titles for sale.

The release dates for sailor moon so far are:

Movies- 1/06/04
SMS1- 1/06/04
SMS2- 3/09/04

It appears that Geneon is going to release one SMS dvd every 2 months. So the other S dvds will be released in these months:
SMS3- May
SMS4- July
SMS5- September
SMS6- November

Hopefully the packaging will look the same except with a new Geneon logo instead of the Pioneer one because I have #2 of S and I want it to match the others when I buy them.
