Pioneer / Geneon To re-release Sailor Moon Movies

It appears Pioneer / Geneon will be re-releasing the Sailor Moon Movies. They will be re-released on Janurary 6th at a price of $49.98. Here is the amazon.com link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ance&s=dvd

What I don't get is why they spend more effort on re releasing stuff like this when they can sub Stars.

Well, they're not really re-releasing the Sailor Moon movies. They still have the Sailor Moon movies in avaiablity, they're just re-selling them all in one set. It doesn't take that much money and effort to re-release something that's also already avaiable seperately. After all, all they're doing is putting all 3 movies in a nice little box that you can buy all at once instead of seperately. And it's really not that more cheaper/expsensive than buying the DVDs seperately.

They can't subtitle Stars if Toei won't give it to them...

There is a boxset relsed yes.

Just what is the point of all of this anyway? doesn't make senes unless there never seen before scenes in there

I have them on DVD, but my S is messed up.

I think I would buy this set if it had "NEW DUB TRACK! DONE BY SOMEONE WHO IS NOT OPIUM!" (yes that SO was deliberate)

OK, I already got all 3 seperatly. And now they are re-releasing it again! Maybe because they are now Geneon instead of Pioneer?

Geneon is rereleasing all the SM movies and the first volume of certain DVDs in a Signature Series line, which seems to be the same thing just at a lower price, and probably minor coverart changes to reflect the new company name as well as Signature series.

This is great news! I just saw it for $37 and the release date was 1/6/04 and I was like

The lowest I've seen the current set for is $65-70 some so I'm on board for the new release! My first anime purchase of the new year isn't Chobits 6 no more!

That's weird. It's mostly because unlike ADV, Pioneer, ahem, Geneon is just releasing the Sailor Moon movies in a better version, with better extra's ect.

It's a good thing also, because their making it look alot better, with better packaging and quality. i just wonder, why doesn't ADV do that to Sailor Moon Season One Uncut? not only is it their fault, but their laziness is our money! Geneon should have gotten the rights! Back on subject... It's probably just the directors cut, because the original movies had those special intro's like Ami-chan no hatsukio, so mabye they have those!!!

I'd buy it only because I only have the subbed movies. I had the S movie but my mom stupidly gave it away. Oh well, she paid for it anyway. I've been meaning to buy the movies but I can never find them at the store and always put off ordering them online.

It's unlikely they'll include the several SuperS specials because no one had announced that they had acquired the rights to it.

Because the movies have been out for like over a year, and the Season 1 was just released this....Summer? And I'm seriously sick of your crap on how you think its ADVs fault for the quality and such of Season 1! You have put it like everywhere! Theres even a topic that says why its like that. Geneon probably would have had the same problem. And you would probably say the same thing "ADV should have gotten the rights because its Geneons fault for its crappiness". You picked the wrong day to do this
