Why are the sailor scouts take so long to do attacks?

Now you all want mature conversation, then ansewer this, why do all the sailor scouts take about 5 minutes to transform and attack their opponet? I wouldve figured they wouldve got hit by the moinsters or somethin. Anyways let me know

Becuase it doesn't really take that long to attack/transform. The point if the long animation is simply to give you pretty eyecandy. But in reality (well, as real as you can get with a cartoon), it's much faster.

There are several dramatic scenes where one or two of the senshi transform/de-transform almost instantly, and it's just a flash of light and color. This is what the enemy is supposedly seeing.

The transformations are long, because we all know that the real reason is the guys really wanna see some flashy boobies and other stuff.

Indeed. They have to give something to the male BSSM fans. ^_- (not that I really mind seeing flashy boobies either)

Here are some of the reasons why it takes them so long to transform and attack "on screen".

-The Japanese (and others) like fancy/heroic poises, speeches, attacks, and transformations.

-The animators use various things to fill time .

-And who doesn't like fan service? (i love agent aika)

While the transformations certainly seem to be almost instantaneous (Episode 106 shows us Michiru's transformation from Haruka's perspective), I think there's a reasonable amount of evidence that the attacks take just as long as they seem to. We frequently see attacks getting interrupted halfway through. They don't usually take as long as the transformations anyway, so it's is a bit more believable.

the transformations arent always fast if you remember when Usagi transformed in front of Mamoru and Zoisite that one time it took a few minutes to finsh that time. Pretty much every time they reveal their identities to someone the sequence really takes a long time.

Sometimes things in animation are done for effect . Mamoru's dialog could have gone on during the short transformation, but the people who drew the cartoon had him interupt the transformation several times to talk. It was merely a way of showing the viewer that he was talking during it.
