What do you think Umino looks like without his glasses?

In the manga, there was one scene when the Senshi thought he might look handsome under his glasses.

I personally think he has big blue eyes, or his eyes are 'close' (Like Brock from Pokemon)

He probably looks like a normal kid under the glasses, like Princess D did (again referencing that scene).

I like him better WITH his glasses. A handsome face is ruined by the stupidity to not wear glasses when needed. (Mousse is an exception, since he usually wears them when it REALLY counts, like in fights)

I think he has really small slanted kinda eyes. It would explain why he'd need glasses.

He would look like a spiky-haired, nerdy boy without glasses. There are characters with glasses who are liked on the show (Taiki, for one, and Thomas Harris, the famous DJ from the planetarium story from S wears glasses), while there are characters who don't wear glasses who aren't very popular (it sounds like all of Rei, Makoto, Minako, and Ami were all unpopular before they met Usagi). He'd probably be still thought of as nerdy because his personality and interests would be the same.

But she's not shown wearing them until AFTER she's got some friends. And maybe I should've just said Rei, Minako, and Makoto. I don't know about Minako, but I DEFINITELY know that Makoto had people scared of her strength, and people didn't like Rei's psychic powers. On the other hand, it sounds like the girls in Rei's school adore her, so maybe she doesn't count. Okay, then, Makoto is/was an unpopular girl who doesn't wear glasses.

This really depends on whether you're referring to the anime or manga.

Manga Rei is incredibly popular at her school, seen in the Rei and Minako special. Anime Rei is rejected because of her spiritual powers, seen in the R movie.

Makoto's about the same, either way.

We don't see much of Minako's school at all in the manga, but in the anime she's also alienated in the R movie.

Maybe so, but anime Rei was very popular in the R episode about the school festival. She was also popular as the mysterious shrine maiden when she was written about in a magazine in SuperS.

Okay...jeez...then I'm wrong about Ami and Rei, but Makoto still stands as an example of an unpopular character with glasses.

Now, back on topic, I found that picture in the manga rather odd. The Senshi think that if Umino took off his glasses, his hair would get neater?! I find that hard to believe.

It's just an artistic rendering to show what they think the epitomy of a handsome character would look like (good looking face, nice, kempt (sp?) hair, etc.) to the girls.
