I am about to make on of the weirdest posts ever. I'm not very fond of Michiru. I love her, but I don't like her. Does that make sense? Michiru acts a lot like I do. Michiru has many talents, and people look up to her as a goddess. Everyone respects her, but she is very cold and aloof, especially in the manga. That is how I act. I don't like being around a lot of people. I'm very aloof and reserved. I've been told that I'm also a cold, heartless bitch, and I know that its true. I'm mean and snobbish to people I don't like, but typically just don't care enough to be mean to those I don't know. Also, I do well in school. People here act like I'm this perfect being because of it. For instance, last year I failed my first test ever. This girl asked to see my paper so she could see what she missed. I told her that she got a higher grade than me, and she grabbed the test to see. She yelled out, in class, "Wow, Steven! You're not perfect after all! You're just another person!" It was humiliating. I don't like people to see my imperfections. I enjoy having people view me as something really good. So, me and Michiru have something in common. We're also both very flirtacious with people we do know. I love Michiru because she's so elegant and wonderful. I want to be more like her. But I don't like Michiru because I'm like her, and I don't like to see myself in characters. I have self-esteem issues, so seeing characters like me makes me see how bad I can be. So, yeah. That's why I love her and hate her. And as for her flaws... well, I have them all. Stubborness, aloofness, and the ability to be cold-hearted and cruel. Sorry about the length of this!

When did I EVER say she didn't?
The topic is on MICHIRU, therefore, I mentioned...*GASP*...MICHIRU.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Hmmmm... true, if you want to go with quality of the flirt, over the quantity of the flirts, that much I'll agree with you on. ^^;
They're both flirts

Don't get me wrong though, I love Haruka and Michi
Point taken, point taken. :P

Here's one example of imperfection that Michiru showed which no one has mentioned -- in the next to last episode of S, Neptune calls Usagi "Princess Crybaby." What a mean and immature insult! If Michiru truly were perfect, she wouldn't have insulted Usagi in such a cruel, childish manner.

She's a princess, and she's a crybaby. It's the truth. You have to understand that the outers believed (and sometimes do later on, too) that sailor moon is very weak...she thinks with her heart, while the outers use logic, which may sometimes seem cold. The outers are rightfully pissed with usagi by the end of S, becuase she almost caused the end of the world by being so soft with Hotaru. It was her fault
Mistress 9 got the holy grail.
.
I really can't stand when people go about how mean the outers are. I'd be pissed at her, too.

Well, I'm not really saying that Michiru didn't have any reasons or justifications for saying it, and I'm not really trying to say it like "Look at what Michiru said to Usagi! She's so MEAN and HATEFUL!" I'm just saying that it's something Michiru did or said that shows imperfection. A person that was truly perfect would never insult anyone -- they would always be nice and kind.

Yes, but you unnecessarily went on and on about how childish and immature she was, almost as if you were ventnig about it. If you weren't, sorry.

I WAS pissed at her, but that's a whole other story. Michiru, I have been forced to admit, does have some flaws. I feel that the bigest one is that she generally (from what I've seen) fallow's Uranus' lead rather than doing what she feels to be proper. This is not ALWAY'S true, but it still pisses me off.

And that's not perfect either, since I think it's a fault to be overly nice...sometimes you have to be not so nice if you're going to defend yourself...I don't mean you have to be mean, but someone who's nice to everyone gets to be a doormat, like the way Ami is perceived to be sometimes. I think a truly perfect person is someone with a perfectly balanced personality--no extremes in either direction.

Noo...we don't. I agree with you very much. I was just stating what I thought a perfect person would be...but I wouldn't like that kind of character. Flaws are interesting, and often funny. (since the topic is about Michiru, I'm referring to fictional characters here, since SHE'S a fictional character)

When has Neptune ever really disagreed with Uranus (and followed her lead anyway)? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I can't think of this happening at all.

I'm sorry to drag up an old thread, but under her list of anime statistics it claims her flaw is "laziness." This really irritates me because never once in the entire series does it show her being lazy. If anything, she's the exact opposite -- she works extremely hard on her schoolwork, her mission, her artwork, her violin playing ... how on Earth is she lazy? That's absolutely ridiculous.

ETA: Nevermind. It meant that she hated it when others were lazy, not that it was a fault of her own.

Rainbow wrote:Michiru Kaiou is perfect. Or is she? What kinds of flaws can you see in this elegant violinist?

I actually can find a few:
1) She follows whatever Haruka says, and gets her way through teasing and witty comments. While it makes her sound cute and refined, that's not always the best way to get control in a situation.
2) Her elegance doesn't seem quite natural; maybe she has a mask and will one day crack?
3) In the episode about her and Haruka's past, we hear a student talking about her not being very friendly. Maybe she only seems more friendly to us since we see her with people she knows better? Maybe to others she comes across as cold and stiff?
Did you know that some Sailor Moon Fans think and still thinks that her and Haruka are Villains in Sailor Moon S

There was no need to quote Rainbow's post. You were not responding directly to something in the post. That's the only time when you need to quote something. And another thing... that doesn't have anything to do with Michiru's flaws. It's completely off-topic. Read all the posts, and stay on topic!

She's flirty, sometimes too much so.
I don't see her flirt that much. Haruka flirts about 10x as much as she does, from what I've seen. (Or maybe it's because Michiru's flirting is very subtle, but I could be wrong...)
She outright invites Seiya to help her undress in Sailor Stars. I consider that just a taaaad flirty.
She seems prone to suggestive innuendo also. Namely, her famous comment duing the SS movie and her comment to Mars during the Nehelenia Arc of Stars.
Make me wonder who the aggressive one is in that relationship. :D
You seem like the kind of person who'll lie.

Yes, I see them as having equal control of the relationship too. Haruka may be the more outgoing one who makes the Senshi decisions, but Michiru tames Haruka WITH her innuendos by making Haruka show vulnerability.

http://www.jeddy.org/kaioh/

This is a website that mostly gave me the idea that Sailor Neptune was perfect. I found it when I was a "dubbie" and I used to think Neptune was perfect because "Serena" said she was in the lemon-bouncing episode (on the dub, not the original). This website further spurred on my former hating of the flawed and interesting Michiru Kaiou. Probably I shouldn't have used a shrine (in itself a devotion to a favorite character) as something to use as judgement, but that's what I did. But I wanted to show where I got that idea from, it wasn't necessarily from watching the original show (in fact, when I saw the original, I didn't think she was perfect anymore, and ironically, started liking her more). I don't have anything against this guy or his website, it's a nice devotion to his favorite BSSM character, but it got me all messed up on Michiru when I was younger.
