I might just go ahead and get the "Perfect Collection DVD Set". I was trying to find the ADV release of the 1st & 2nd season of Sailor Moon but since most of the copies are gone and I don't want to use Ebay to buy them, I guess buying the bootleg collection is the only way. I really want to see the original episodes with subtitles but I don't know when ADV will ever return those 2 seasons for DVD again.

They won't. They don't have a license for SM anymore. It expired. Perfect Collection probably wouldn't be the best choice, IMO. If you want the best quality, the R2 DVDs would be your choice, unless you don't know Japanese.

This is defintely not good! I would get the R2 DVDS but I don't know Japanese and I would need subtitles. Getting the Sailor Moon S & SS DVDS are easy to get but the 1st & 2nd season is going to be hard. :(

I'm getting R2 for all 5 seasons, all 3 movies, and I know they come with at least 5 out of the 7 specials. But you need a special Region2 DVD player, and a special type of TV. And if you want to save money, the slowest shipping is like 2 or 3 weeks and all in all, 38 bucks! For one DVD! But it is worth it...

(If you are buying off of CDJapan.)

That's what I wanted. I wanted a SM DVD Collection with all 200 episodes plus the 3 movies and hopefully the Specials as well. Might as well get all the SM episodes at once! What about the website: www.sailormoonshop.com/starsdvd.html

Are the DVDS bootlegs? They seem really expensive.

Possibly. The fact that they are Region 0 makes me distrustful. It is a 12 DVD set while the R2 has it as 6. BUT, the R2 also has S season as 7 DVDs, while American release only has it as 6. So you can't really say much on that... But still...6 to 12...seems like they are trying to rip you off...

Do you know how I can get Seasons 1 & 2 without the DVD being bootleg? Is there any Anime DVD company out there that releases a non-bootleg DVD? I really really really want to see the 1st season in it's original format.

Ummmm...I do not think there is any company who does...Since we are going off topic AND since there is a thread for your questions...we should take this convo to the "Aquiring Sailor Moon Episodes and Movies" thread stickied at the top.

I'm thinking about getting the Sailor Moon Perfect Collection for $188.00 for all 200 movies plus the 3 movies. ADV use to sell Season 1 & 2 but since they will never come back with selling them I would like to get a SM collection that contains both seasons that I specified. I heard that the Perfect Collection is bootleg. Is $188.00 a rip off for this collection? Thanks.

Yes, most likely. Because since it is all being fit into very few DVDs, the quality is probably going to be crap.

Maybe I should just get the 1st two seasons (Perfect Collections) instead of buying the full collection set so I can view these episodes and see if they are in "good" if not excellent quality (the ADV weren't excellent either) and if I don't like the quality I'll just take them back and see where I go from here. I just wished that ADV gave SM fans more time to buy the SM & SMR DVD sets

Wow, I didn't even know that the production of ADV's release barely doesn't exist anymore. Whew, I'm glad that I bought the two boxes right to the beginning ^^° But why is that?

It depends on how many DVD disc the series will be spread out on. In a typical bootleg each season is spread out over 4 discs. The quality shouldn't be horrific if there are 20 or more discs plus an additional 3 for the movies. Anything fewer and then the quality will start to suffer greatly.

As for the price: it's all about what you're willing to pay. You can visit different sites to find the better deal, but it's up to you if you want to spend the money on it. It does seem a bit expensive for a bootleg, but i really don't have any prices that I can compare it to.

Why do I take forever to respond?

The ADV boxsets are out of print. ^^; You can only get them from places that still have copies left in stock and places that sell used copies. Used copies are a gamble since you don't know the condition of the discs until after you've bought them.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

Ah so now I understand. I guessed it right, but I didn't remember what the term was. ^^° Thanks! *bows and sneaks away*
