Do you think American animation is opening up to the fact that animation is not just for kids?

OMG!!!!!!!!!! Jeeze!! I think the first eppi I saw was one of the last eppis of SS.... Helios was there adn called Usagi (serena) queen or something.. Cant really remember it... heh... I caught the tail end of it whiel waiting for Tenchi muyo to come on.... Then I'm like hmm this it pretty good! then the next day it was an S eppi... it confused me and I didnt' watch it quite as faithfully for about 6 months... (this is when it was on CN) Then I started watchign it again... then ti was off for forever... ha.

Then one morning I was flipping through the channels... for some reason I was actually up before 6:30 and I saw a familier blonde on the FOX network. I sat down and finished watching it.... tee hee... it was Shutter bugged... Nephlyte (SP????) ah... I love the classic... but then it came back on CN and I watched it even more faithfully.... and I LOVED the outers.. I mean loved them. I think I didn't realize that when Saturn appears at the end of S the it was in fact the end I I wondered where the cool "scout" *shudder* went with the cool weapon.... then I figured it all out... no Saturn until Stars!!! then I cried... but only foir like ten seconds... haha.
and now I get yelled at for buying stupid sailor moon DVDs weh i should be saving my money (which I haven't bought one for about... oh let's see..... five months... sorry off topic I"ll stop it now.)

But anyway...
My first episode with a song was "Raye's Day in the Spotlight" Come to think of it, "Eien no Melody" and "Oh Starry Night" sound VERY similar!

Excuse me. I just warned you, telling you that this wasn't a chat room and to please space your posts out. Your response is "But anyway..." and you post AGAIN? All of your posts are one or two-liners, and they're within 15-20 minutes of eachother. You need to learn how to reply with your ideas in ONE post, wait a while for more replies, and then post again if you have more to add.
Meanwhile, do not ignore a warning I give you with a simple "but anyway", as if you were dismissing it.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I think the first episode I saw was the episode right after Rini comes along. I had come home from City Camp one warm, sunny, 1997 July afternoon, and turned on the t.v.
Right away I flipped the channel to Nickelodeon, and being that there wasn't anything interesting, I changed the channel to Cartoon Network.
I thought "Cool. A cartoon that I've never seen before. Maybe I'll watch it..." And I tried watching it as much as I could.
I was hooked. *^-^*

Well, I first saw Sailor Moon when I was in 10th grade. I had seen some ads in Disney adventures and tv for the dolls. I got a little curious about it and one friday when there wasn't any school I looked it up and started watching. It was the episode when Usagi is suppose to pick up Chibi-usa from school and it's raining outside and thundering. She keeps saying how she hates thunder and lightening.

At first she seemed like a big whimp and I couldn't understand why in the world she would be a super hero. I started watching it just to see what she'd whine about next, but then after a few episodes I started noticing that there was a real story line to it and the growth she was making over time and it started to really draw me in. After a while I was hooked and was eager to see how things would end, especially with the Usagi/Mamoru breakup. and they had to cut it off right there. I was not happy. Thank goodness for friends who had acess to the rest of the R season, even though it was completely raw and I couldn't understand a word of Japanese. I got the jist of the idea. (that's also the first way I saw the SuperS movie)

I'm now completely into the subbed version and the manga version! See what one little dubbed anime will do to a person!

I first saw Sailor Moon in it's first run on YTV, when I was 5. I was hooked and astounded, because there was finally a show that seemed like it was aimed at girls. I was obsessed.

Everything in my life was Sailor Moon, I had dolls, lockets, and even a Sailor Moon board game. (The one where you had to save Sailor Moon...I was very pissed that I couldn't be Sailor Moon, so I had to be content with being Sailor Jupiter...))
My friend and I found ways to connect Sailor Moon with normal life. We would blow bubbles which looked supeciously like the Doom Tree, and we would show a hand of cards to each other, throw them up in the air, and make little flute noises. After all this, we would paint pictures of all the 'Scouts' but mine always had to have this little white figure pressed in the corner, a little tribute to my favorite character, Queen Serenity. ((Please keep in mind, I was five...))

I adventually lost interest in Sailor Moon, when it became uncool, but then in Grade Six, I caught sight of S airing on t.v. I was astounded by all changes that had happened from the first and second seasons. So I decided to go on the internet to see what this was about...

I went on a website, and was inmediately confused by a picture from Sailor Stars. Why did Sailor Moon have balloons for sleeves? Who in bloody hell was this little pink haired one, who was clearly not Rini? And let's just say, I paled considerably when I saw the Starlights.

And then I got into the information, and got very confused. Who was this Usagi person? Why did these people insist on spelling Amy's name wrong? And who is Chibi Chibi, and where did she come from???

But after surfing for awhile, everything became clear. And I have had to explain numerously to people that Sailor Moon is not a little kids show, and my reputation took quite a hit last year when it was revealed to all that I was an undercover Sailor Moon fan, and that my poetry presentation contained poems that were all discretely about Sailor Saturn. :D
Mr. James : Lost a satellite on liftoff today.
Dave : Cost?
Mr. James : 10 million dollars.
Dave : Result?
Mr. James : Extreme set back.
Dave : Milk?
Mr. James : Spilled.
Dave : Gonna cry about it?
Mr. James : Not even.
Dave : I''m sitting on a rather sharp tack.
Mr. James : That's gotta hurt.
Dave : Well, life's a bitch...
Mr. James : ...And then you die.
Dave : My...
Mr. James : ...oh...
Dave : ...my.

I just have to say that that is the cutest thing I've heard in a long, long time. XD I just squealed when you talked about the flute noises while throwing cards. So damn kawaii.

My first contact with the world of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon when the dolls came out here in Australia.

Then, one holiday morning, I tuned in to good ol' Agro (a puppet worked and voiced by Jamie Dunn who had a cartoon compilation on Channel 7). It turned out that he had Sailor Moon on at one point during the show, and I watched the show intently for the next five days (it was the bit about the Nijizuishou/Rainbow Crystals). I immediately recognised it as anime (I had taken a Kumon class in Japanese and they use lots of manga-style drawings).

I stopped watching after that week, not realising there was more to the story. However, several years later (1999) I rediscovered the show on Cartoon Network and got hooked again.

And as the Wapanese speakers say....Rest ga history desu!

My first encounter with Sailor Moon was when talking to a SM obsessed friend in high school. I though, "ugh! how could anyone like a show for little girls!"

Fast forward a few years, and I'm into anime. I notice reruns of SMC and SMR are playing in syndication on Saturday mornings. "Well, what else is on, at least I'm getting my daily fill of anime." Oddly enough, I found myself enjoying it. A few months later, I after hearing that the SM manga was a lot better than the dub, I decided to give it a try. I bought the first volume (in French), loved it, and soon bought the next three installments. Of course, I'm no longer working/have cash, but I plan to buy the rest of the series as soon as I do. It's really addictive! And it's also got me pondering about saving up to buy the SMC/SMR box sets, and then the S DVDs, and SuperS... Well, at least the S/SuperS DVDs are relatively inexpensive, considering their episode count.

ANyway, I'm kind of a newbie fan to the series, but plan to get more SM as soon as I can.

My friend showed me the dubbed R movie, and I thought. "This is so stupid! The voices are god awful and those skirts are waaay short!" She kept on it for a year and so I finally decided to give it a try and it grew on me. Now she hates it and I love it.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

first time i saw sailor moon was when my mom's freind's children were spending the night, for like a week. Farah (Who is a veery good friend of mine) asked at about 4 oclock what channel cartoon network was on, and she was watching sailormoon DiC version. The first episode i ever saw was "VR MAdness" and i instantly fell in love with it. I forgot the name of thew show, so i didnt see it  until like... 1 year later, I saw the same episode one day when i was flippin through the cahnnels. (I reconised the animation). Then i started to really like sailor moon to the point where im on a website forums right now.
