Does R really stand for Romance?

They place the dubbed SuperS movie is labeled "ages 7 and up", and chibiusa's completely naked at the end, for quite a while. Also, the senshi de-henshin, and are naked in the same way usagi i, only it's body lines with color instead of flesh. Same with Usagi at the end of the R movie. Sure, they both have ribbons, but you can definitely see the nakedness.

If you've seen a Barbie doll naked, then you've seen Sailor Moon naked in Pretty Soldier Sailormoon Sailorstars. Honestly, it's no worse than seeing a naked baby on TV daiper (that doesn't look like it's spelled right >_>) commercials; no nipples, hardly any breast lines, and nothing below the belt except, maybe, her butt (haven't seen 200 in ages).

EDIT: That should have been "Sailor"stars, not "Superstars" >_<;

*nods* exactly. It shows her entire body from far away, frontal, so you see her crotch line for maybe...5 seconds? Then, the rest of the time, it shows her waist-up or with side-profile.

The Return/Romance meaning for R always seemed to make sense to me. They return in the first arc and then it's all about Usagi and Mamoru for the rest. Actually, even in the first part it's about romance. Usagi chasing Mamoru, Ann chasing Mamoru, Ali chasing Usagi, Ali and Ann both chasing each other. Usagi and Mamoru have go through a breakup then get back together. You've got at least 2 of the 4 sisters who is interested in some guy and Emerald who is chasing after Diamond. Diamond chasing after Neo-Queen Serenity. Seems like everyone is after somebody half the time. I think Romance works very very well for this whole season.

I don't see a problem with Usagi being naked in the last episode of Stars. It's not like she's showing every little detail. I would have preferred a really awesome dress like when she's Neo-Queen Serenity, but this works too. I just can't understand one thing....why is it that Mamoru is so calm when he sees her naked? or did I miss something when I saw it? Just makes me wonder exactly how innocent their relationship is.

I think it it speaks more about Mamoru's maturity about seeing such a thing. Granted, it's the woman he wants to be with/marry, but he's still mature enough to see a female naked and not react with a massive nosebleed or a blush attack. Besides, I'm sure he's too caught up in the moment of seeing Usagi again to worry about a silly little thing like nakedness.

*nods* exactly. Hell, they haven't seen eachother all season and Usagi DID just save the world...I don't think he quite cares about that at this moment.
Also, think of it this way...Usagi is in an angel form at this point...she has angel wings, and is in her purest of forms. her nakedness is pure, and just for the sake of her power and saving the world. Imagine if you were Christian, and Jesus came to the world, but he was naked. You wouldn't gasp and go "OH MY GOD, JESUS, YOU'RE NAKED!" (wow, what a paradox of words that sentence was XD;), would you? You'd view the nudity as something pure, something innocent, and that's what Usagi's was.

What I ment was it can be an ALL on some episodes, like episode 4, or one of those mild ones. Some episodes are 14+, sorry for putting in 17+. Although, I'd consider episode 199 and 200 a 14+. Oh yeah and tiff, they edited out the scene where the senshi were all detransformed. The scene where rini was nude was a little bit zoomed in, but you could tell

I personally think ADV exaggerated a lot about Sailor Moon on their description. For one, they state that it was a "hugely popular" series in the US. Okay, so maybe it was somewhat popular, but "hugely?" Both Dragonball Z and Pokemon are two anime that were far more popular in the US than Sailor Moon *ever* was. Second, they say that the Japanese version is "far more mature and sophisticated." Yes, it was somewhat more mature and sophisticated than the dub, dealing with more themes of death and having less childish dialogue, but ADV makes it sound as if it's this extremely mature show for adults when it wasn't, it was still often very innocent and childlike.

I wonder if R stands for Revision or Rerun? The reason I'm thinking of that instead of Returns is at the beginning it's like the Senshi have to start all over again.

Actually, Romance would make sense to me if the whole show wasn't romantic anyway. ALL of Sailor Moon is focused on romance and relationships. To me, Return makes the most sense since it's the second season and the return of the show (especially since it wasn't planned from the start, but thought up once the first season got so popular).

I thought R was very romantic. Usagi and Mamoru kiss more in R then in most of the seasons in the anime. A lot of it focuses on their relationship as the main theme. Their are a lot of love triangles in R. Mamoru loves Usagi. Usagi loves Mamoru. Mamoru and Usagi love each other and are together. Ann likes Mamoru. Ail likes Usagi. Dimando loves Usagi. Esmeraude loves Dmando. She also flirts with Mamoru. Safiru and Petz are also together. Kooan wants Rubeous. Calaveras likes Rubeous in the manga. Rubious seems to be in love with Wiseman. "Oohh... Wiseman..." DiC invented a Esmeraude and Safiru subplot. When they would comment on how Demando loves Usagi so they both agree that Usagi is the cause of the way the plan has been going and they've come to a realization they agree on their opinion of Sailor Moon, DiC changed it to Safiru sayiing how he has true feelings for Esmeraude and Esmeraude laughing him off, making us wonder if DiC has been writting Safiru/Esmeraude fanfics and wanted to add it in. Rubious is loved by the Ayakashi sisters. Usagi and Mamoru have many romantic dates and kisses in R.

I think R is very romantic, like all the seasons.

I agree with you about the love triangle thing, Sailor Moon, but I don't think Usagi went on alot of romatic dates with Mamoru in R. Most of the time either Mamoru couldn't remember that he loved her or they were broken up at the time. I don't think they kissed that much, either, though they mave done so in the early episodes of R.

Yes, I use similar symbolism in my own fics. One of my fic characters, who's a child, goes naked a lot and it's supposed to symbolize her innocence. She also has some VERY powerful natural abilities (not magic ones, though, physical and mental).

But, wait a minute, peachvampiress, are you talking about the R season here or SailorStars? Because I don't remember Usagi being naked in R, but I think Chibi-Usa-sama was after she got healed in the end of the story.
