Sailor Stars is now being released on DVD in Japan, but Toei has stated that they don't want Sailor Stars to be released in the U.S. in any version. I have another question about Sailor Moon that I hope is ok to ask in this thread. It seems like the only bootlegs that exist for the first four seasons are rips of the R1 DVDs, but the Sailor Stars bootleg set is handmade from scratch (about as handmade as bootlegs are anyway, but you get my point). Since the first four seasons are rips of the R1 DVDs, my question is were there any other different bootleg DVDs of the first four seasons that were released before the R1 DVDs? Surely there must have been Sailor Moon bootlegs before the R1 DVDs were released and if there are, what did they use as their master copies? Because if there were other bootleg DVDs for the first four seasons that might have used the Japanese laserdiscs as their master copies, that could mean that there's a subbed version of the first two seasons with better video quality than the R1 release somewhere out there.

There was a group that subbed the first season and a half (up to where DIC stopped the first time) off the Japanese laserdiscs, and then distributed them by tape. I have up to the first 4 episodes of R. A bootleg could be off that. Though the video quality increase probably isn't going to be much

Hi..newbie here and just looking for bit of assistance.

I'm wanting to buy the Sailor Moon S and SuperS boxsets..and was wondering:

1. Where's the best place to purchase them?

2. What does the coverart for the SuperS boxset look like? I've seen three different versions (see below)...and I'm confused, it's giving me a headache.

Thanks in advance.

My boxset has the middle art, and none of the other two. I suppose they could be for the releases in other countries, so your kilometerage may vary.

Cheers for that. :)

I was checking various online shopping sites (like RightStuf, DVD Planet, Deep Discount DVD etc) and they had either of the three, so I was like .. :? ...scared they'd be bootlegs or something. I suppose the boxsets were legit but they couldn't be bothered with the accuracy of the details.

As far as I know, the art on the far right is not box art at all, but the cover picture for the last single volume of the SuperS season (VHS and DVD). You might want to be sure to read the product description very carefully on "box sets" with that art next to them, just to make double sure you're actually getting a box. (The set should have 7 disks with 39 episodes.)

The SuperS box I purchased here in America had the middle art as well.

It's so much fun when the online retailers mix up product images! x_X

Does anyone know where I can get the *official* series 3&

Post by purplefeltangel » Sat Nov 26, 2005 10:36 pm

I have been looking all over eBay, amazon.ca, etc but all the sets I have found of seasons 3 & 4 have been bootlegged. The DVDs do not appear to be available on RightStuf anymore . . . can someone help me find these DVDs, or even sell me theirs?

I just found them on Half.com. (An eBay site.)

I found them in eBay stores. :D Now the question is, do I want the six individual S DVDs for $11, or the thinpak'd boxed set for $70 . . . .

The box of mine has the first picture, the other two are on the DVD covers of mine.

Thinpack boxset is PRETTYYYYY. :3

If every indiviual DVD is 11, then you'd be paying 77 in the end.
So take the boxset as apparently it'd be 70 only.

This site is subbing the series using the R2 DVDs. So far they have seasons 1 & 5 completed.

I didn't see this question anywhere in this thread, and since it pertains to this subject, I'm going to ask it. For those of you who own the VKLL fansubs on DVD, what sort of disc do they put it on? As in DVD-R, or CD-R, or what? Also, if this applies in any way, what region are they coded for? Thanks to anyone who can help.

They are on DVD-R and are region free.

I was browsing around www.youtube.com and noticed that they had a few Sailormoon episodes up (including some R episodes). I saw all three movies up there to. I didn't feel like going through all 1009 files that came up when I typed in Sailor Moon, but I'm sure if you look hard you can find some episodes to watch.

And a Myspace account for her clothing designs.
