By "This stuff", i'm not sure if you are referring to the original version of sailor moon, the dub, or PGSM live action...Panzerkampfwagen wrote:Where are all you guys watching this stuff? I don't have Sailor Moon on any of my 800 channels...

Most of us here watch the original version of Sailor Moon, usually through licensed DVDs/Videos, bootleg DVDs/Videos, or fansubbed DVDs/Videos. Many people also have Sailor Moon episodes downloaded to their computers, or recorded to VCD.
Occasionally, you can find dubbed sailor moon on some sort of Fox or local channel, usually early in the morning. But hardly ever.
As for live-action PGSM, that can be downloaded through the internet.

Panzerkampfwagen, please be more clear when posting. I don't understand exactly what point your response has.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

Short version
At present time, you will never find Sailor Moon air on TV unless some network is making a HUGE breach of contract and is simply asking for immense legal trouble.
Long version
That's because in North America, there is no currently existing contract for Sailor Moon to air on TV. Last year, DiC's contract for the first two seasons expired, meaning that technically, those seasons no longer exist here. Not only did this mean the immeidate end of printing of any and all discs and all other first two season merchandise, but the syndication rights for airing them expired as well. So any DiC dubs can't air on TV, and essentially no longer exist period. The next two seasons are in a different state, as the contract that CWi has for those seasons still exists. However, as for TV airing rights, none exist, at least not in the US. Toonami had a contract for exclusive airing rights for these two seasons in the country, and I believe this has run out. In Canada, I believe YTV had a similar contract, and I'm pretty sure that is over as well. The fifth season has yet to even touch this side of the ocean legally, much less to air on TV here. The movies, just like the first two seasons, no longer exist, as Geneon's contract for the movies ended at the dawn of this year. The movies had a similar airing contract as the second two seasons, in that Toonami and YTV held exclusive airing rights, where those contracts have run out.

Sailor Moon stopped airing on YTV Canada long ago. I've lost track of exactly when. First the third and fourth seasons stopped airing, which I'm assuming is because the airing rights ran out. While these seasons were much closer to the original, the ratings still went down. When I watched these dubs when they originally started airing in Canada, my friends were not impressed with the original music and thought DiC made a crappier score or something like that. Because of the poor ratings, I think YTV decided not to bother renewing the airing rights. So because of that, for probably around a year and a half or so, they reran the first two seasons over and over. Then they were soon pulled off the air once the licences for these seasons expired.

That was the problem with Sailormoon on YTV, they always aired it when kids were at school.
Roasted Twinkies, I remember before S and SS aired that YTV would always air Sailormoon during school hours. Did they do that once S and SS aired? I know they didn't do it right away. I remember they aired one episode on Tuesday or Wednesday at 6:30pm, then air two on Saturday at 3:00 and 3:00pm, but once SS neared the end, didn't they switch the schedule a bit, because I remember not being able to see the end of SS. I'm pretty sure that once they reran the two seasons for the last time that they had it during school hours. To add what Dan already said.....

When Sailor Moon first came out in Canada back in 1995, I thought it was dumb and didn't pay attention to it at the time. So I don't remember the airing times then.
By September 1996, there were new classmates in my grade 5 class. I made friends with most of them and one of them re-introduced me to Sailor Moon. At first, I still thought it was dumb, but then it grew on me. I remember the show aired Monday through Saturday at 2:00 PM (Manitoba time). We couldn't watch it during the week because we were at school, but we watched it on Saturdays and also during those times when we were sick and away from school.
Then by 1997, the air time changed to 6:00 PM and it still continued to air at the usual 2:00 PM time on Saturdays.
AS far as S and SS goes, I remember watching the show around 7:30 PM (Alberta time) on Wednesdays. Then the schedule changed and I couldn't figure out what the new airing time was. I didn't have a computer at the time and I was too embarassed to check the online schedule at school (no one at my new school at the time was a Sailor Moon fan). I only watched the show off and on before the schedule changed, so I don't remember which point of the series I left off at the time.
Again, this is all Alberta time. During my high school years.... this is where my memory is a bit fuzzy. I believe the airing times were 5:30 AM (yes, I got up early just to watch Sailor Moon), 8:00 AM (which was later changed to 9:00 AM), 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM (which was later changed to 3:30 PM) on weekdays. I believe the airing time on Saturdays was 2:00 PM or 2:30 PM. On weekdays, the 5:00 AM and 4:00 PM (3:30 PM) showings were S and SS. The 5:00 AM showing was always the episode that aired at 4:00 (3:30) the day before, just in case if you missed it. On the Saturday showing, they also showed S and SS. It was always slightly ahead or behind the in the series compared to the weekday showings. All the other showings on weekdays were random DiC episodes. Then when S and SS stopped airing, all showtimes were DiC episodes over and over until the show was pulled off the air entirely.
OT: That took me forever to type up! /OT

Of course that's all B.C. time. You're an hour ahead of me, so I don't get how it could have aired an hour earlier in Alberta 0__o
^^; yeah, so that's more or less the Canadian schedule history of Sailormoon if anyone wants to use it.
I can fill that part in since I came across the first episode when it premiered. In 1995, it aired right after school at what I'm pretty sure was 3:00pm. I'm 80% sure that that's how it aired on weekdays until mid to late 1996 in the school year. I just wanted to mention that I lived in Manitoba all of my life until 1999. From 1999 to the present, I've lived in Alberta. Just so you don't get the times confused.peachvampiress wrote:I can fill that part in since I came across the first episode when it premiered. Also, it is possible that YTV could have been airing the show at completely different times in different provinces. The reason why I say this is because the Simpsons comes on Comedy Network at 10:00 PM here (right now- see the time stamp on this post) and when I was talking to my cousin in Ontario, he was also watching the Comedy Network and the Simpsons wasn't on there.
EDIT: I just remembered! Sailor Moon also aired on a different TV station. At the time it was known as CKND, but it is now known as Global. Around 1996-1997 it aired at 8:30 AM (Manitoba time). We used to watch it before going to school. School started at 9:05 AM for us, so we couldn't watch the last 10 minutes or so. It also aired on Saturdays in that same time slot. My parents made me take swimming lessons on Saturdays (which I hated and bitched enough where they finally stopped making me go) and I watched the show before I went.
