Question about the S season...

I think it was more because the Stars season got a different character designer that year. The rest of the seasons all had the same character designer.

I thought there were three character designers: one for Classic and R, one for S and SuperS, and one for Stars. I know at least that the first character designer only worked on the first two seasons before he went on to Wedding Peach.

Well it looks like there's at least five animation directors and at least two character designers. Hitoshi Doi's site lists some of them and the episodes they worked on. But only eps from the first two seasons ate listed, which is why I say "at least". It's possible that some of them worked on the later three.. http://www.tcp.com/doi/smoon/staff/index.html
