Um...what exactly is your point?
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

She might've been the reason. Or maybe it was because Optimum hired women and men who just can't represent the characters they're playing as (how else did we get British nanny Luna?). I don't mind bad writing in shows if the voice delivery is good. The English Sailor Moon dub, however, went the lazy route and just seemingly hired random people to play the roles in the dub.
I can tolerate the dub, mind you, but if I worked at Optimum back in 1995, I would've made sure that the voice actors/actresses were better chosen for their parts, and fire Lisa Lumby-Richards before she could have ever come up with the words "Moon Mama". Now THAT was something we all couldd've lived without.

O_o;;; Canada _IS_ in North America. It's actually the largest country in North America.Neo Dead Moon wrote: The English Sailor Moon dub (I don't call it the North American Sailor Moon dub as it was dubbed in CANADA!)
And I never knew that Lisa was the assistant ADR, but I know she wrote scripts for EVERY season. She was one of 2 writers for the S season and one of 3 for the SuperS season. In the S ones, she wrote the episodes that were WAY off, as well as the ones in SuperS. Her brother did the voice for Dr. Tomoe.
But yes, she was responsible for the awful scripts. The good scripts were not written by her.

Yes, I'm stupid. I didn't read the "North" part (most people just say "American dub", referring to the U.S., which is NOT the place Sailor Moon was dubbed. Hence, my frustation).AnimeGuru0 wrote:O_o;;; Canada _IS_ in North America. To correct myself: I meant to say I prefer the term "English dub" to inserting the name of the country a show was dubbed in. I dunno..."North American dub" sounds too long. My brain must have gotten lost along the way while thinking that (I type too fast).
I'm 20 and in my third year of college, but you wouldn't know that from the inconsistencies I sometimes make on this board ^^;

Lisa-Lumby Click Here
Jeff Lumby Click Me Too
Both have little experience in a variety of things, yet Jeff's talented (I prefer his Tomoe, to the original) and Lisa....isn't ^_^;. Talent doesn't run in that family.
But on the other hand, acting and writing are two different mediums. Who knows, maybe she could have been a could voice actor.
