I recently read some of Wedding Peach, and to me, it just seemed like another copy of Sailor Moon.
So my question is, in Japan is Sailor Moon like an idol to other animes. Like how, say Friends is here?

Wedding Peach is more or less a knock off of Sailormoon. The Voice actress of Angel Daisy was the voice actress for Usagi/Sailormoon. At some point or another, almost all comedy animes have referenced it. Excel Saga, I *think* Cutey Honey (I remember hearing that there was a refernce), Puni Puni Poemi, and I'm sure others too.
I think Sailormoon is just one of those things that stand out. It has some cliche moments, but it was also very unique. It was well written and the characters were fairly difinitive and original. It's just a formula that people like and tend to mimic.

And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

*Shrug* that, and it was incredibly popular when it was about, and still has great popularity in Japan. Just look at all of the insane merchandise for it...sailor moon fish sausages? Mmkay ^^;

No, I'm pretty sure that Yuko Miyamura does Angel Daisy, not Kotono Mitsuishi. Rainbow is right..however, Kotono DOES do the voice of "Potamos", whoevre that is. as far as i know... sailormoon falls under the magic girl genre, and everything after sailormoon is either original or idolized off of sailormoon.
