Id like to apologize

Post by Mattio » Mon Jul 26, 2004 3:10 pm

You guys Im really sorry. Let me explain why.

I am 17 years old, I will be a senior this year. I started watching Sailor Moon in 6th grade, and was completely obsessed. I kew EVERYTHING about Sailor Moon. People were so annoyed with me throughtout my entire jr. high experience, but I didn't care, because I loved Sailor Moon. As High School started, I started to drift away. I would still draw the characters on and in my notebooks, but slowly I took down my wall scrolls and drawered my tapes. I stopped going to the Sailor Moon websites too.

Just a couple weeks ago, I took out my Stars fan subs and began to watch again. And Completely FELL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN! I hung up my wall scrolls, Ive been going on this message board. And now I am buying the first season as we speak! Im obsessed again.

So I'd like to apologize for leaving you guys! I miss Sailor Moon. I neglected you guys when this site was made (bc i dont remember it being around then!), I wasn't even around when the first season came out on dvd uncut!

So I have a lot of catching up to do, and Id like to apologize to everyone of you, Im really sorry, and I hope you will forgive me for forgetting my roots!

The same thing happened to me. I completed the series and moved on to other things. What got me back into the fandom was that I simply started watching again, from episode 1, while digitizing my fansubs. That brought back all sorts of memories, and I went out searching on the Net again, and resuming my old nickname. And I found the DVDs and PGSM and all the new and wonderful things pertaining to Sailor Moon. So don't feel bad. The fever ebbs and flows, but once you've made that connection and said "Yes, I love this show," it never truly goes away, and you're always a part of the group.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I had actually given up the show for about a year in junior high. It wasn't until I saw the newer episodes when the second run of S was on YTV that I decided to give the show another chance. I had run into the new episodes by accident from channel surfing.

I did the same thing. I didn't have any episodes of Sailor Moon on tape so after it went off the air I just sorta eventually drifted away. Then one day, I was reading a story and it mentioned Sailor Moon and I just started thinking about SM again and soon I got back into it again and even managed to get ahold of Sailor Stars fansubs so I could see the end of the series :D I'm glad to be back, and I'm glad your back too!! :D [/quote]

Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I think it's more an apology to all the SM "fan family" that they forgot a large part of their childhood for a while?

I was a bit the same: watched it every morning at 6:30 AM before school. Then it was cancelled. Went for a while before finding it on Cartoon Network and fell for it all over again. Watched through the end of Super S. Had most episodes on tape. After it was cancelled again, I started slowly recording over my tapes (something I'll now never forgive myself for  ) and moving on to different things. Then, my husband bought me the Season 2 DVD set (Season 1 had been sold out). I started watching those and really liked it, but wasn't totally thrown back into it yet. Watched about a quarter of the discs before forgetting about it again. Then I found PGSM. BOOM! Back into obsession. Got Season 1 and watched it and the whole of Season 2. Downloaded Stars and watched all of that. Now, I'm rewatching Stars and waiting for the glitches to be worked out of the S series before buying the box set of those (plus waiting for money to come in) and just finished making a set of wallpapers devoted to each of the scouts.
I think it's just that we found it while we were younger and then kinda drifted as we got closer to being adults and our lives got busier.

You are a moderator and you don't see the point? Basically, I feel like we are all family, we all share this love for Sailor Moon. And I left all of you guys, and now I'm back, and I felt bad that I left you all and wasn't there for all these new Sailor Moon things that came out!

Just forget about it if you don't understand.

Thanks everybody for sharing your stories, hopefully we can all be friends again!

Not everyone is as deeply into the fandom as you seem to be. Some people just like the show as a show, and the fans as fellow fans, and don't see any kind of familial relationship there. That makes them a different breed of fans, not necessarily qualitatively worse or better.

Maybe the apology is really directed at Sailormoon itself, for not being strong enough of a fan not to get bored. But stick to it this time and I'm sure Neo-Queen Serenity will forgive you. ^_^

What the hell does being a moderator have to do with anything? I see no point in apologizing to a bunch of people you don't know becuase you didn't watch a cartoon for a while.

I love sailor moon as well, but good lord, I really don't think anybody cares if I haven't watched it in a few months, or a year, or whenever.

o_O; I never was your friend, nor were a lot of the people on here until now, so...."hopefully we can all be friends again!" makes NO sense whatsoever.

*Shrug* Sorry, but I see family as people who I'm closely friends with, NOT in any way, shape, or form based on a cartoon show. So, no, I don't see the point, nor do I really think this makes any sense.

Don't mind Tiff. She's cute and adorable once you get to know her. *DUCKS AND HIDES TIFF'S WRATH*

Anywho, i AM very offended that you left us all this time...........uhh........In fact, so offended that I don't know how you'll make it up to us. I know what would help me get over this. A crisp 100 dollar bill. Yep. That would really make me feel at ease about the whole thing. Please send it in a sealed envelope to Bob in Las Vegas. The sooner the better. =D!!!

*shifty eyes*

What????

Yeah, I have to agree with Bob, for your desertion, you must complete 12 tasks if you want us to accept you back:

1)Kill the Nemean Lion
2)Kill the 9-headed Hydra of Lerna
3)Catch the Arcadian Stag
4)Catch the Erymanthian Boar
5)Clean the Augean Stables
6)Kill the Birds of Lake Stymphalus
7)Catch the Cretan bull
8)Catch the man-eating Mares of King Diomedes
9)Bring us the golden belt of the Amazonian Queen
10)Catch the oxen of Greyon
11)Bring the Golden Apples of the Hesperides.
12)And then bring us Cerberus

You have 24 hours...GO!

24 hours?! Uh-uh, that is WAY too much! A crime of this type only allows for less than 1 hour to get all those tasks done! Get to it!

lol i can do all of that. For catching and bringing back i would just give the summery or the beasts and to kill it you just kill the story. Though that might sound corny, which i agree it is, it is the best way.

And you don't need to say sorry because there are many of us like that including me. Here in Canada they played the series for 1 year and then stopped so i slowly forgot about it, even though i loved it, it was only about 2 years ago i remembered about how much i loved it and about 6 months or research i was back in with all the seasons and films on my shelf.

So cheer you you already on of us for loving the series. :)
