Animation errors.

Here's what I've noticed:
1.) In the R Movie before the youma grabs Minako's leg her torso is missing.
2.) They'res a shall shot in Mercury's bubble attack where her arm is all skin colored, no glove
3.) Anytime you see a character through the fence(Eg. Mimette in that S episode, Usagi and Naru are watching the tennis) they're face always goes THROUGH the fence, like it's just a gap.....Wierd..

Yeah...I'd classify that more as "laziness of the animators" rather than "errors", because it happens over...and over...and over. I really noticed it when I watched the Doom Tree Arc a few days ago and they were standing on the roof of the school.Mark91 wrote:3.) Anytime you see a character through the fence(Eg. No offense to the animators though.

many shows do the "invisible fence" thing when a character is standing on one side of a fence and the camera is on the other. This is mostly so you can see the characters' faces. If the tiny hatch lines were drawn over their faces, you'd lose a lot of expression in the character's face and the face would also look very busy. Horizontal bars (like those of a cage) are also sometimes left out for the same reason, as well as rain (ever notice that rain hardly ever falls directly in front of a person?). It's simply so the viewer can see the most of a characters face and/or body.

Me too. O__oMark91 wrote:Well, I don't see why they wouldn't use a default fence pattern and place it over a cel.
Really? I've yet to see any other shows besides Sailor Moon do it...either that or it didn't stand out enough for me to blatantly notice it.crazydiamond wrote:many shows do the "invisible fence" thing when a character is standing on one side of a fence and the camera is on the other. I'm not sure if this counts as an "error" or not, but in Japanese episode 40, "The Legendary Lake Monster! Usagi's Family Ties!", when Mamoru is standing in front of the lake after over-hearing Ikuko's story about the legendary lovers, the wind blows his hair all over the place, but his hair still sticks up even after the wind stops blowing. Does Mamoru use a lot of hair gel or something?

Palla-Palla isn't wearing any tights. In the rest of the scene, though, she is.

Sailor Moon R Movie
i noticed in sailor moon R the movie when sailor moon gets attacked by Fiore she is on the ground laying in a cross formation, then the next moment her legs are appart instead of together. Also in the same movie, Fiores lips are moving, but it's Sailor moon's voice speaking.
Re: Sailor Moon R Movie
This is an error from the original print of the Sailor Moon R movie. The LD release, and the DVD release corrected this. The print Pioneer got was the original print.ChibiUsagi wrote:Also in the same movie, Fiores lips are moving, but it's Sailor moon's voice speaking.

I've always wondered, what is Usagi saying in the corrected version? They'd have to take out Fiore's dialoge and have Usagi speak to make it correct, but what did they have her say? This is an error from the original print of the Sailor Moon R movie. Peachvampiress has an account on DeviantArt. Insanity Within.
And a Myspace account for her clothing designs.

Good question, although I always assumed they replaced the shot of Usagi with a shot of Fiore talking.peachvampiress wrote: I've always wondered, what is Usagi saying in the corrected version? I've just found an instance where the editors of the dub got lazy and didn't do any blurring on one of Mercury's half length transformations. Here is the best screencap I could get of it. It happens in dub episode 48 "Raye's Day in the Spotlight."
Rosencrantz: Do you think death could be a boat?
Guildenstern: No; Death is not, it isn’t. Death is the ultimate negative; not being. You can’t not be on a boat.
Rosencrantz: I’ve frequently not been on boats.
Guildenstern: No; what you’ve been, is not on boats.

Oh, oh, found one!! XD
During Japanese episode 87 (Believe in Love and the Future! Usagi's Determination) RIGHT after the Senshi's transformation ends, they're still in their pose for one (Or less XD) seconds. You know how Sailor Moon has that weird victory pose thing when she henshins in the first two seasons? Well, at the end of her henshin in R, her victory thing is always on her left hand. But after the Senshi transformed she had the pose thing on her right hand. =P It's true! XD

Here's two that I noticed from the R season the other night. In episode 71 (For friendship! Ami and Berthier crash), when the Soldiers are all shouting "Make-up!" just before they start their transformation sequences, if you pay attention to the little window thingie with Rei, you can notice that she's wearing her star-shaped ear rings that she only wears when she's Sailor Mars, even though she hasn't transformed yet. And in episode 74 (Kill Rubeus! The final battle in the space void), when Usagi and the others are searching for Chibi-usa downtown near the end of the episode, you can see Rei wearing those star ear rings again when Usagi asks Rei if she's found Chibi-usa yet.

In Episode 9, "Usagi's Misfortune! Watch Out for the Rushing Clocks" while Usagi is on that bus, a lady comes up and begins choking the bus driver because he doesn't stop at her stop. This is cut from the English version, but there's an animation error here where Usagi is frantically waving her arms in response; her odangos disappear...
