I'd actually buy the Classic/R dub only DVDs if I had the spare money right now. But between my anime/manga/video game/D&D hobbies there are many other things that have higher priority.

I bought the R movie recently and watched it in English since it's been so long since I've seen the first dub cast. I used to have the R movie dubbed on VHS and it used the same music as Classic/R dub. The DVD is uncut so the animation is not messed with, nor is the music. It's strange hearing the original cast with the Japanese music. I wished they had the original version of the dub that they had on the VHS tape instead. It's not the same hearing Moon Revenge instead of Power of Love on the dub! The Japanese version was wonderful though.

I wish I had the R/S/SS dub tapes (or they put them on the DVD) too. I like watching the DiC dub (infact I have 11/14 of the dub DVDs [#1,2,5,6,7,8,9,11,12,13,14], going to order the remaining three [3, 4, 10] soon) and through this I can enjoy it now that it's off air =\

Anyway, yes, I like the Japanese henshin songs better than the English one (two? Crystal Power is shortened)

Something I've found in watching my DVDs that I think fits in with this theme: the subs go down a lot easier. What I mean is, generally I can watch four or five subbed episodes in one sitting, but when watching the dub, after one or two, I find myself wanting to go do something else. It's not just that the subs are better, I think there's actually a subliminal irritation in the dub that turns me off to it. That is, even though I'm used to the dub voices, it's still a discordant and uneuphoneous sound and subconsciously I think, "This isn't fun anymore."

i've only seen one episode of the original sailormoon and i was overwhelmed... the dub sucked so bad compared to the sub, the episode i watched however wasn't in the dub; so i really shouldn't compare the two.
