Ugggh, these dvd's are coming out TOO fast, I'll never get a hold of them before they go out of print :cry: my vhs's will probably wear too with the way I watch them :D . Maybe I should try to get a job, haha, considering I have sooo much free time on my hands.

Some sites I've seen the box release as its own page as well as the regular release, a couple list the box as a first pressing thing and that the first pressing is sold out, and a bunch just have the regular version listed with no mention of the box on their site whatsoever. I forgot this release was coming up until literally last night, and I don't want to miss out on another season box if I don't have to.
If you're still looking for the Box CD Japan has gotten some more in stock.

Awesome, when I checked a few nights ago they had none, so thank you very much for that info. There were six left when I saw this post, and now there's five thanx to my order. ^_^

Sailor Moon S vol. 1 & 2

Post by Umino » Wed Dec 22, 2004 9:51 pm

Volume 1

Volume 2

I personally don't like these. :( The first cover is the first three LD covers in one, which don'st really look too great. And I was hopeing for touch ups, or having the art editing a bit (like the SMR covers)

Wow, I love those covers too, very pretty, and yes, the editting job on the first one is awesome imo. It's gonna be hard for me to hold out on these DVDs. ;_;

The editing on the first one is nice. I love the way the shadows are, but I don't like the second one. I've seen the image too many times and its gotten sort of boring now.

I think they're both gorgeous. I love the editing job of the first volume. And the second volume has one of my favorite pics on it. I'll definitely be buying them.

You're so picky. :o You wanted the art from the LD covers but now you're like... Just kidding. :lol: I think the first one looks pretty good. I'm disappointed they didn't touch up the art but I guess it still looks good. I wonder if there will be new art used for the next volume? By combining most of the cover art into one for the first volume, I wonder what else they can use? :D I'm so excited!

That's how I feel. There are nice, but I personally wanted some touch ups/edits like the previous covers.

I think the covers are nifty! I think it would have been cool to do a rainbow backround effect with the inner senshi though, but hey! Still cool! :wink:

The artwork for both of these volumes looks great (I especially like the cover art for volume two), but I think I would've preferred it if they used something more newish. They still look really nice, though.

I finally got my BSSMR DVD8 + box a few days ago, and must say that the box is great. The pics of it above don't do it too much justice, especially since the whole box is a wraparound image (minus the bottom), and that the price tag stuff was kept in CD Japan's pics. It's made with clear hard plastic and any part of the box that isn't the image is clear, adding a nice little effect. Inside it with the disc is a cardboard box with quick images of the spines of the other discs to be a placeholder until the discs get placed in there, which is a nice touch for me since I can't buy all the discs yet. The packaging for the disc itself is pretty good. The case is also transparent, the artwork used in both the front and back is beautiful, and anywhere you see silver in the pics it's a shiny foil silver which adds that nice shine effect. *_* The disc shares the same image as the cover, as does the insert booklet. The booklet however, appears to be like a memo book, with only lined pages inside with a graphc header on each page. Not really sure what that's for.

It took me a while before I got to watch the disc itself. I was planning to do it today since I have the day off, but when I got home from my friend's, I went to look up the region code hack for the DVD player here in my room, and found none, which is still boggling my mind, since before I bought the player I looked it up and saw I could hack it easily and that was the decision to me buying it when I did. Now over a year later and that hack I had found disappeared, off the same site I had seen it from, and I can't find it anywhere else on the net. >.< After wasting all that time to find nothing I just changed the region setting on my DVD burner to watch it. It plays automatically which is something I don't like too much, but the menus look nice and work well. Extras on the disc include the clean OP and ED, and the 15 second next episode previews strung up all in a row, minus the preview for episode 90, though that preview is still on the disc following episode 89. Something that I've never noticed all these years until today is that the 4 corner OP of episode 89 is kanji-less. And yes, I did just check my old fansubs to double check. As for the episodes themselves, the sound is about as good as it can get considering it's in mono, and I can't really comment too much on the video since I don't have much to compare it with and it's been years since I've seen these episodes. I do think the video looked pretty well though consdiering how old these episodes are.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this purchase, and can't wait to hopefully finish this collection. ^_^

Wow, that looks really nice. I especially love the cover art of volume two. *gets hearts in his eyes* The back covers look pretty good, too.
