Someone else has said that you can purchase the DVDs from places like Amazon Japan and Yes Asia. And "R2" is not another season of Sailor Moon or a different show; again, as others have said, it's the region encoding of the DVDs, which corresponds to Europe, Japan, and a few other countries. Please read the rest of the thread before responding to it.

Also, let's try keep the discussion focused on the re-release of the series in Japan.

I will definately order the episodes but i'm going to order them after the full amount of DVD's have come out for each Series, since shipping cost will be alot and there's no point in just ordering each DVD 1 by one which I find just a waste of money.

Question:

Do you get the box with the first or last volume for each season?

You get the box with the last volume of each season. I think they're limited though...not sure. The first season box was limited so...

Judging by previous posts in this topic, no. I think it's just a Japanese release so they won't have english translated subtitles. That's why lot of people who stated that they ordered the R2 release are looking for full episode translations. ^^;
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

You could probably find the scripts that VKLL did online. Or if you know enough Japanese. Also you can't play these DVDs unless you have an R2 (Japan) or R0 (region free) DVD player. You can actually turn R1 players into R0 players. I did that with my DVD player by downloading a patch to a CD-R and playing it in the DVD player. I also got a patch for my DVD-rom drive for my computer. I can't remember where I found them now but I can confirm mine work. I have the R2s of Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa.

I'll be buying all of Stars to replace my VKLL fansubbed DVDs. I'd like to buy the SuperS specials on R2 as well. I am not sure I'll buy that one R volume just for episode 67 or not. Japanese DVDs are a lot more expensive than US DVDs (just checked - 3800 yen = $34.02 USD right now so it's not too bad) not to mention shipping is a bit expensive, especially if you are impatient like me and usually get EMS.

Ya, they are a lot more expensive, but the quality of them should be much better than the R1's, for season 1 and 2 at least, so I think it would be worth it. Although if you're a broke teen like me you'd have to by one every few months or so. I sorta' hope Toei doesn't stick to the release schedule, because I want to buy all of season 1 and 2, and Stars, and as long as they haven't released all the DVD's yet, I don't think any will go out of print, but I think within months after they finish Stars, they will most likely be out of print, so I'm hoping they release them slow enough to I have time to buy them all, lol.

Just a small post, but guess which episode is, in fact, available on the Region 2 edition of Sailormoon R Volume 4?

...

Episode 67, the one that was skept in ADV's release.

Urgh... lol, that'll be so much o.O ! I'll keep my VKLL fansubs for the translations but DVD quality Sailor Moon anime... yayyyyyyyyy *_* !

That's nice, but I still like the NA cover better ^_^

0_____o okay. The art on the first picture is nice (except that it looks like Rei is balancing Petz's left breast on her fingers) but the second one looks bad. Serenity looks dispraportionate, Endymion only has one eye shown and Emerald looks weird (not her usual kick ass bitchy self). But it is nice to see new art.

Does anyone know if there's any stores that have the V8 + box version. Some sites I've seen the box release as its own page as well as the regular release, a couple list the box as a first pressing thing and that the first pressing is sold out, and a bunch just have the regular version listed with no mention of the box on their site whatsoever. I forgot this release was coming up until literally last night, and I don't want to miss out on another season box if I don't have to.

The cover art for Sailor Moon R: The Movie looks really nice, and I like it better than the R1 DVD cover art personally, but the cover art for the Sailor Moon R box just looks strange to me.

I agree. I think the box art looks like fanart. It's weird looking that way. However, I do like the movie art, more so than the NA art here.

I love the R movie cover..and honestly, I like the second R series cover better than the first one. I think it's rather lovely.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.
