PGSM

Post by Celexa » Thu Oct 16, 2003 9:02 pm

Sorry to all PGSM lovers, but PGSM just kinda creeps me out. Maybe I'm just an anime person, maybe that "Saban Sailor Moon" trailer by Rocky Solotoff has just scarred me for life. I just think it's a little freaky how their hair changes suddenly when transforming. But I gotta say, from the theme song I like Ami's actor.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

And it's not freaky that their clothes suddenly change, too? :P

That's cool, though. Everyone's entitled to their opinions on the show. The world would be a pretty dull place if everyone agreed on the same thing ^^

Well in the anime it's just fine, but it's still a little...odd...in PGSM.

As to why they didn't recognize the Senshi in their civilan and Senshi forms in the anime, I think it's because they might have had a special aura, maybe the people never got a good look at them, or nobody could image Usagi in a short skirt. :D

I tend to agree on this last point...the Soldiers always managed to get into fights in unpopulated areas. How...fortunate :P

And golly gee, Sailor Moon had a mask in the manga! But some of the villians were rather dumb too. Like how Nephrite thought Naru was Sailor Moon in that one episode...he was a bit dumb. (Quote Sailor Moon Says: Your Daily Alternative - "Don't you think my hair is a lot longer and a lot blonder than hers?") And Rubeus...*shakes head* Let's not go there. But when they fought those few times in a populated area, I have to lean toward that "special aura" explaniation.

GRAAAAA! *stabs ISP* *cough*
I would really like to see the show but I have a 56k modem and a local ISP that is so bad that I'm lucky If I get shaky 28k performance out of it. Plus my connection cuts off after about five hours every single freaking time, so I couldn't download overnight even if I wanted too. I just about went insane (like I wasn't before?) while downloading Sailor Moon episodes… So, I'll just have to settle for episode summaries right now.

I haven't seen any PGSM yet, but I just looked at some of the pics on the Sailor Senshi Page. I don't know why, but it almost seems a little "eerie" to see the senshi in live action. But I'd still love to see it. My modem is pretty slow and I don't have that much space left on my harddrive so I'm not even going to try to download episode, I guess I'll have to look at fansubs sometime. I do hope this helps revive interest in Sailor Moon, it doesn't deserve to be forgotten.

I did think that Sailor Moon and Mercury's "fighting techniques" are a bit pathetic. :? When I first saw Sailor Moon's "fighting", I was totally lost at first. I didn't know what she was doing, whether she was dancing (but she couldn't have been dancing in that situation) or is on drugs. And it doesn't seem like she's fighting at all, more like dancing. She doesn't display much punches or kicks.

I did like what Sailor V did in the opening of Act 1. Now if they had everyone do that, then I will be satisfied! :) They are using decoys (is that the correct term?) right? So that won't be a problem ne?

I think Sailor Moon's transformation is hilarious! The most funny part is the face she makes when she raises her hand to change her hair color. And I like the actress Hama Chisaki. She plays a great Ami, but her poses are a bit stiff.

Ah yes, the forums are definitely back.

I love the new show. Luna is very cute and funny, I especially like the faces she makes. Mamoru is one damn good looker too.

EDIT: Fixed the freaky italics.

2nd EDIT: Got rid of the italics altogether because they're being stupid.

My friend Jo commented on the same two things. She loved Luna's expressions, and was going on about how hot Mamoru was.

For those of you who've managed to download the GOOD fansub from TV Nihon: does the video play alright? I'm using Windows Media Player - the simple one - and the video stalls a bit a few times, then rights itself a couple seconds later.

Yay, it's Friday! Rei-chan makes her appearance <3_<3

The soundtrack won't be released until December (I think). For now, the only mp3s you'll find are directly ripped from an episode, meaning you could hear the same thing by just watching the opening sequence.

That song's stuck in my head, too....arghle >< Although that's the only actual songs I like right now (not a fan of "C'est la Vie").

Calm down, Tiff. Think of your blood pressure. Plus, remember: Celexa wasn't here before. He/she probably never saw the topic where we learned it was Toon Makers. I didn't know until I saw it here either, especially since most places list it as Saban (i.e. ToonamiArsenal and the Jerry Springer AMV).

Then again, you've probably just missed saying that, haven't you? You had to say it all the time, and then you had to go for a few weeks without it. The withdrawal symptoms must've been horrible!

The maxi single for the opening song "Kirari* Sailor Dream" is to be released on Nov.19. There are going to be four tracks in the cd,
The op, C'est la vie, and the karaoke versions of both songs.

BTW, I love PGSM :D

Celexa: The company that DID make that American Sailor Moon live-action clip wasn't Saban, it was a company called Toon Makers.

As for the thing itself, I thought of something. Sometimes people say that Seiya and Mamoru look similar, if Mamoru has a ponytail, then he'll look even more like Seiya!

Whether that's good or bad depends on your opinions of Mamoru and Seiya, of course.
