New profile cp (was registration freeze)
While this affects no one who is currently registered and posting here, I must announce this here for anyone planning to to see and so everyone here knows what's going on. Basically to put this in the nicest way possible, I have reason to believe that there have been some people recentally who have been lying about their age, my reasons being if a new member makes a post that seems "kid like" and then are confronted by the asking of their age, they immediately seem to "disappear." Add this to a couple other things, and I feel it's time to add some fairly complex code to the forums regarding user's birthdates and probably a calandar thingy too, with hopes that this issue can end. However, I'm too busy with school work these last couple weeks of the semester to add in all the code and deal with this. Therefore, after discussing this with the rest of the staff, we have decided to prevent new accounts being created. I feel this will deter these kind of people away in this period of time. Also, it doesn't mean that no new accounts will be made at all, if anyone wants to join here that wants to actually want to be here for the enviroment and conversations and such, then feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to get you setup. Any other accounts created without the ok from an admin will be deleted on sight. I apologize for any inconvenience during this time.

New code has been added for a kick-ass new profile control center. Since birthdate entry is a part of this code, new account creations are now allowed once again, provided that the new user input their birthdate asap after activiting their account. And all current users, please do so after you see this. I'm sure everyone here will enjoy the new profile control panel. ^_^

Wow..that's pretty freakin awesome.
Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

That's a major improvement on the control panel, so I might start using it!
One thing, though: on the bottom front page where the online users are displayed, the new color code for "Board Founder" was added, but now the colors for the Admins and Mods look the same as the color for user. (Maybe it's some subtle difference I'm not seeing) I mean, it's no big thing, I know who all the people are, it's just weird.

*Sob* we're not important enough to be colored!Sailorasteroid wrote:

o__0 please excuse my ignorance, but I have no idea what you're talking about. I know that it relates to how our profiles look now, but I just don't understand any of it, speciafically what any of this stuff means and/or does. What do the lights by our names mean, and what does the friend/ignore list mean and do in the profile thing. Sorry for being stupid, but it takes me a few times to get things (but that's what makes me so damn cute ~_^...right?)
Peachvampiress has an account on DeviantArt. Insanity Within.
And a Myspace account for her clothing designs.

If the light next to the name is green, that means you're/they're online. If it's grey, they're not. I think the friends list is just a novelty thing, and I believe the ignore list is to block posts and PMs by certain people.peachvampiress wrote:o__0 please excuse my ignorance, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Thanks, it makes a little more sense now. All I need now is people to add to the friends thingy so I can try it out. Who wants to be my special friend?! :everyone runs away: T_T
Does it block posts, like the one I'm typing right now on the board, or posts in PMs?I think the friends list is just a novelty thing, and I believe the ignore list is to block posts and PMs by certain people.
BUT OF COURSE!! ^_____^ Thank you Tiffu, you've shown me the light (quite literally). If the light next to the name is green, that means you're/they're online. If it's grey, they're not.

Hrm..I believe both, but don't take my word for it. Better wait for Dan to answer that.peachvampiress wrote:TiffDoes it block posts, like the one I'm typing right now on the board, or posts in PMs?I think the friends list is just a novelty thing, and I believe the ignore list is to block posts and PMs by certain people.

that sounds like a great idea, but you sure have created a lot of work for yourself! I hope it's not too much for you!Sailorasteroid wrote:Something else that occurs to me: since we're going to have everyone's birthday in their profile, what does everyone think about putting together a list and sending out Happy Birthday posts or PMs? I'd be quite willing to go through all the profiles and prepare a calendar.

Actually, in all the code I wanted to do today, a calendar was on my list to add. However, all the code for the profile control panel and related code took longer than I thought, so I decided to wait until later. Chances are by the end of the week I'll have it up.Sailorasteroid wrote:Something else that occurs to me: since we're going to have everyone's birthday in their profile, what does everyone think about putting together a list and sending out Happy Birthday posts or PMs?
