One thing I've noticed lately about these forums is how slow they load. Even on a fast connection, they feel like they're loading on a 28.8K connection (if not slower).

Is there a reason as to why the forums are so slow?

I've noticed that too, but I just assumed it was packet loss (I believe that's the term). That's what my Webhost told me when my server was snailing about.

Has it always been like that for you or just recentally? I can't really tell how well the site works around other places because I only really access the Internet from my house and on campus (where the connections between the campus and road runner networks suck >.<) and sometimes at my parent's (which is only half hour away). Let me know and I'll see what I can find out about what the problem is and how to fix it.

If it's been around a month, then I might know the problem. I've been temp serving Lil Yay, a DC anime hub part of the Halo Anime Network (HAN). It's a small hub, only registered users can get in it, so i figured it wouldn't take up much bandwidth. However, there have been ghost users with fake shares (I say shosts since they don't appear as users on the hub software) and my guess is that they must somehow be sucking up bandwidth. After seeing this thread this morning, and having my connection drop on me three times in a 20 minute period, I've gotten a special build of the hub software from the writer that has the search feature disabled to save bandwidth, so hopefully that will help and those ghosts are gone now. If I don't see any ghosts and don't see any more additions to this thread telling me otherwise, I will assume this worked and all is well. If not, then I'll take other measures necessary to get things working the way they should always be.

HOLY SHIT THIS PLACE IS SLOW!!!

It's running slower than 14.4k! None of the images are loading. (And when I say none, I mean none.) This is the worst I've ever seen this place.

x_x no shit. none of the images would load for me either, and it took it like 10 minutes to quote a post.

While it doesn't load THAT slow for me (What connection do you have? I have cable) I can still manage to sort through about 30 emails and I'll have to wait for a bit when I'm done for the forums to load. Dan-san, are you sure you got rid of ALL the ghost users?

EDIT: The forums are working wonderfully fast now. Good job, Dan-san! Now these forums load like they should!
