VALENTINE BANNER CONTEST

Hello! I know this is a bit late, but with school starting up and with ushicon just ending, I simply didn't have the time.

February's contest will be, of course, a Valentine/romance banner contest. The rules are as follows:

1) It must display a couple from Sailor Moon. This can be manga, anime, artbook, or even PGSM (live action). It can also be a "canon" couple, meaning a couple where only one of the persons is in love (such as Seiya and Usagi, or Fisheye and Mamoru). These canon couples MUST BE WELL KNOWN. DO NOT make up your own couples. I don't want banners displaying Pluto and Endymion or Chibiusa and Taiki, as they are either debateable or made-up. I will allow pairs such as Hotaru/Chibiusa so long as they are shown in a tasteful manner displaying FRIENDSHIP.

NOTE: ALL PICTURES MUST BE TASTEFUL. No pictures depicting gratuitous sex, please. Kisses and the like are fine. If you wish to display TASTEFUL nudity, show the picture to me first and I will either okay it or refuse it.
2) Banner must be 300 x 137 in size and in GIF or JPG format. You may submit up to 2.
3) If you use someone's fanart, you MUST have their permission first, and if they want credit, you MUST credit them somewhere on the banner.
4) The banner needs to say "Sailor Moon Uncensored Forums" and have the url, "http://www.smuncensored.com" on it. This must be done in a readable font (this includes size, style, and color)
5) In order to enter, you must have been a member for at least two weeks and an ACTIVE POSTER AS OF TODAY. Anyone who joins the forums after this is NOT ELIGIBLE. This isn't to be mean, but I don't want people joining just for the contest, and we have too many members who have never posted or have only posted once or twice. If you are unsure as to whether you qualify as an "active member", contact me.

GUIDELINES:

1) Please try to use a picture of decent quality.
2) Please try to use a readable font. I cannot stress this enough.
3) Be creative! Don't just paste Usagi over a pink background, and call it a romance banner. Use some imagination!

THE DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH.

Prizes are as follows:

1st: Banner displayed from 2/8-2/14, and a CD made by me containing various Sailor Moon Love songs (I will make a seperate post containing the list of the love songs)
2nd: Banner displayed from 2/15-21, award made by me
3rd: Banned displayed from 2/22-2/29, award made by me

I'm sorry, I do not have the money to have more prizes available for 2nd and 3rd. For the next contest, I will try to have some small prizes available.

I would like you to upload the banner to your webspace (if you have one) and paste the link here, so that everyone may view your creation. If you do not have webspace, email it to me, and I'll upload it for you. DO NOT POST THE IMAGE ITSELF HERE.

The person who wins may choose 18-20 (depending on how many I can fit) of these songs, and they will be compiled into a CD.

I believe the word you are looking for is "unrequited"; canon is actually a lot more complicated, so I may make a post about it in the anime section if the mods allow it.

Do these rules allow for couples depicted in official art books? I.e., in the first one, the shitennou are paired with the inner soldiers, etc.

Ah, yes, unrequited. Thank you. That's exactly the word I was looking for, but for some reason couldn't think of.

And Naoko made notes in that artbook that she simply wanted to draw a picture of the generals and the senshi together, but since it DOES depict them as couples, I will allow it. Go ahead.

Tiff, I have a problem. Well, I used the SMUForums banner as the first layer (just for size). And the size for some reason is '304 X 141' then when I try to resize it, I can only get '300 X 139' or '295 X 137'.

Can you help?

If you are using photoshop, you have to uncheck "constrain proportions" while re-sizing the image. I went ahead and re-sized it for you, and have it saved.

I consider myself to be a outsdtanding graphic designer, but I stink and banners, buttons and such. I said I would do the Valentines day contest, so here are my entries. :
