Halloween Banner Contest 2007!

Time for the annual Halloween Banner contest!

This year's idea comes from our very own Bob. Pregnancy has stolen my creative juices, and so I had to outsource to come up with a good and original idea >_>; SO YAY BOB =D

This year's Halloween Banner theme is...COSPLAY! Find a good sailor moon cosplayer, and create a banner!

Pay close attention to the rules, since this involves cosplaying pictures and not just regular SM pics.

Rules:

1) Your banner must contain a Cosplayer from ANY Sailor Moon genre (manga, anime, etc), and it also MUST have a Halloween theme with it. Slapping a cosplayed chibiusa on a pink background doesn't cut it. The cosplayer may be dressed as ANY sailor moon character.

The Halloween theme doesn't necessarily have to be SCARY...just be creative. Pumpkins and leaves work! Trick-or-treating works! Candy! Black cats! Or, if you want to go the scary route, go ahead!

2) You MUST link where you found the cosplay picture in your submission post. I want to give credit where credit is due, and I don't want any angry cosplayers chasing after me (which is pretty unlikely, but still =P). So PLEASE be sure you credit the cosplayer, and where you found the image. If you don't know the name of the cosplayer, at least link where you found the image. If it is a picture you took yourself/of yourself, then specify where it was taken, etc.

3) Banner must be 300 x 137 in size and in GIF, PNG, or JPG format. You may submit up to 2.

4) You are allowed to use brushes, backgrounds, and edit any original images. Photoshop filters are fine, and I have no problem if you want to add extra pictures/clip parts. If you use a brush, credit the brushmaker in your post. Please be careful about text and fonts. I MUST be able to read it.

5) The banner needs to say "Sailor Moon Uncensored Forums" or some form of it (shortening it to SMU Forums is fine) and have the url, "http://www.smuncensored.com" (or smuncensored.com, etc) on it. This must be done in a readable font (this includes size, style, and color)

6) In order to enter, you must have been a member for at least two weeks and an ACTIVE POSTER AS OF TODAY. Anyone who joins the forums after this is NOT ELIGIBLE. This isn't to be mean, but I don't want people joining just for the contest, and we have too many members who have never posted or have only posted once or twice. If you are unsure as to whether you qualify as an "active member", contact me.

OTHER GUIDELINES:

1) Please try to use a readable font, both type and color. I cannot stress this enough.
2) Creative Crystal Power! Make up!

THE DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30.

I would like you to upload the banner to your webspace (if you have one) and paste the link here, so that everyone may view your creation. If you do not have webspace, email it to me, and I'll upload it for you. DO NOT POST THE IMAGE ITSELF HERE.

Prizes are as follows:

1st: Banner displayed Oct 20-31 , avatar made by me.
2nd: Banner displayed Oct 10-20 avatar made by me.
3rd: Banned displayed Oct 1-10, avatar made by me.

And this year? I have a nice prize for 1st place. I will be doing this from now on for every banner contest.

The 1st place winner of the banner contest will receive a $20 gift certificate to any online store of their choice. ^_^

My first banner!

The orange Halloween moon behind a blue Venus is supposed to represent her colors. I didn't recolor the moon, but I did recolor Venus in Corel Photopaint. Then I put the image in Macromedia Fireworks, and did the text there,which explains why my banner text finally looks clean and decent. Probably not THE most creative banner, but it was a spur of the moment decision.

The batty background is by me. I decided to tint Saturn with a light violet. All texts were done in Macromedia Fireworks, everything else in Corel Photopaint.

I will have a banner entered this time! Even if it is shoddy and I'm getting intimidated by the ones already up. It's taking some time- I have to get help using a picture editing program (I've never graduated from Windows Paint

).
