2006 Christmas Banner Contest

It's that time again! The time when Tiff gets WAY too excited about Christmas, and plays carols on her winamp all day long until Derek beats her with the "turn that shit off" stick. XD

...It's also time for the annual SMU Christmas Banner Contest!

This year, I have something new and special for you all!

This year, I'm doing a lyrical challenge. I will post the lyrics to three traditional Christmas Songs. Each banner MUST have a phrase/line from one of the songs. That line/phrase MUST be written on the banner, along with an image(s) that reflect this lyric for you.

This is challenging, and to me, allows for more personal creativity, becuase each banner is going to be a reflection of what those lyrics mean to that person.

It can display winter, christmas, or the holiday season in general.

Please be sure to read the rules even if you've done this before, becuase they're a little different for this contest.

Rules:

1) Your banner must contain a phrase of 3 words or more from one of the songs. Just using "Merry Christmas" doesn't cut it, people. =P

2) Banner must be 300 x 137 in size and in GIF or JPG format. You may submit up to 2. You do not have to use the same song for both of them.

3) You are allowed to use brushes, backgrounds, and edit any original images. Photoshop filters are fine, and I have no problem if you want to add extra pictures/clip parts. If you use a brush, credit the brushmaker in your post. Please be careful about text and fonts. I MUST be able to read it.

4) In your entry post, you must include which song is in your banner.

5) The banner needs to say "Sailor Moon Uncensored Forums" AND the chosen lyrics/phrase. To accomodate for this, you do not need to include the url this year. This must be done in a readable font (this includes size, style, and color)

6) In order to enter, you must have been a member for at least two weeks and an ACTIVE POSTER AS OF TODAY. Anyone who joins the forums after this is NOT ELIGIBLE. This isn't to be mean, but I don't want people joining just for the contest, and we have too many members who have never posted or have only posted once or twice. If you are unsure as to whether you qualify as an "active member", contact me.

OTHER GUIDELINES:

1) Please try to use a readable font. I cannot stress this enough.
2) ...>_> *stabs whoever doesn't know it*

THE DEADLINE IS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18

Also, I WILL have REAL prizes this year. I'm not entirely sure what they will be yet, but it could be anime posters, CD's, and more. Keep watching this thread, becuase as soon as I know, I will post the prize list.

I would like you to upload the banner to your webspace (if you have one) and paste the link here, so that everyone may view your creation. If you do not have webspace, email it to me, and I'll upload it for you. DO NOT POST THE IMAGE ITSELF HERE.

They do contests for Halloween and Christmas >>;; Maybe other Holidays as well, but I haven't been around long enough to know that one.

It makes sense to do the Christmas one in November, that way judging and such can be settled in time for the actual Christmas season XD

Chibi-Usa smiles at the snow, out of the badly drawn house I drew myself... The Sailor Senshi are decorating a Christmas tree in the backround. The snow was an effect in Corel that I decided to use. And incase you can't see her, Princess Kaguya has her arms outstretched, and she's the reason for the snow.
