Rules??

For being an 'uncensored' site, this place has alot of stupid rules and for that matter, alot of stupid banning of people! What the hell is up with that bullshit?! What is this?! A whiney little thirteen year old's forum that has nothing better to but ban people that they get jealous or annoyed about?

I figured I'd make this post as a big FUCK YOU to all the losers who run this site! Thank you and have a pleasant evening!

Lol. Bandwidth costs money. The people that own this site/forum pay the money for that bandwidth. Thus, they can do whatever they want since it is their money and their bandwidth.

This message is disgusting and stupid. Which causes me to wonder why people waiste their time signing up for a forum just to flame people. Does it make people feel "big" or "important". Further more, the only person who seems to be acting like a whining 13 year old is you.

I'm guessing that this person has been banned once before or knows someone who's been banned. It's the only reason for such immaturity and childish behavior with the emphases on "banning". Honestly, the energy you waiste coming in here and acting like a complete idiot, you can easily do something a bit more constructive.

There are people that come here to have a good time, you know. I have a good time here, and that's because I can come talk about SM, games, other anime, and other stuff with people all over the world.

So, a few lessons this person needs to learn:
1. The world doesn't revolve around you
2. The rules are there to make sure that surfers of all ages can come here and have a good time.
3. Respect your fellow surfers

(Note: By 'surfers' I mean Web surfers)

I'm sure that this is a pathetic cry for attention. If this person returns, which I highly doubt they will seeing how most flamers don't, we should ignore them. All they want to do is stirr up the members and create a low-level chaos. So far, no one seems to be giving this person the childish gratification that they so desperatly want, but for future reference disreguard this person until an Admin can decide what they want to do.

Hmmm..... I thought about deleting this, but since this isn't the first time one has questioned the reasoning and such of rules, this is a good place for discussion on that. There are many reasons why we have the rules that we do, let's make a breif list shall we?

1) Maturity. If one cannot express themselves in a mature manner, then they should not be heard. Whining, namecalling, rudeness, etc, is just plain and simple common sense and common respect. If someone cannot handle this, then they don't belong in any type of public setting, especially this board. We're here to discuss many things and have fun, not bash each other to all hell and back.

2) Bandwidth. When dealing with bandwidth issues, the admin must consider both (a) the usage of bandwidth and space on the server, and (b) the time it would take normal users to download and open pages. I have implemented a bunch of rules to lessen the amount of unnecessary space on my server. This in turn lessens the amount of time a page takes to load for users, in which generally admins should try to optimize the site for users on 56k modems. These speeds are in general the lowest used on the net, and by also using this optimization point, it's a near gurantee that pages will load fast for anyone in the case that their ISP is deciding to be slow and such. More specific examples will be given if this thread goes on.

These are the top two factors that key into the rules placed. If someone can't present themselves in any sort of mature manner and not respect other users or rules, then they don't belong here. US law requires all people who use public boards like these to be aged 13 or above. If you can't act that way, then you should find something better to do with your time then waste it on the internet.

And I'm sure this was obvious, but may as well publically state is. pookiepothead is banned permantely for lack of maturity and possibility of breaking the law if they are in fact lying of their age.

Woah...people get banned all the time?! There are some times where I've thought the mods were being a bit harsh (usually when I was posting immature stuff, like my anti-Outers ranting), but I'll give it to them...only 2 people have been banned in the history of the forum, so far as I know. Given the large number of people who use it now and who were on the old forum, that's an AMAZING amount of tolerance on the part of Dan, Tiff, and Bob. Since it IS their forum, they could've banned anyone who disagreed with any opinion they had, but they didn't do anything like that. So even though I have different opinions about dubbing and Sailor Moon issues in general, thank you, mods, for making this an accepting and tolerant forum that I could come to.

I can think of another reason for the rules that are here:

They are there so that all the surfers who come here can have a good time, and keep troublemakers from spoiling the experience for everyone else

Nope, people don't get banned all the time, just sparodic isolated incidents. There might've been a few temp bans now and then, but there's only two permanent bans in effect as of now.

That person must have a very sad and lonley life if they have to register on a fourm just to stick two finguers up at the rules adn stuff.
I have no problems wiht the rules it keeps thing's in order's and the fact that Bob, Dan and Tiff run the site and the fourm in thier own spare time ( which I don't think they have much of) I think they do a great job

You're welcome. I also apologize for starting that anti-Outers topic...I probably didn't mean everything I said about them. My opinion about them is actually very ambivalent, so some days I'm angry at them and some days I like them.
