SMU Christmas Logo Contest!

XD I told you something new was coming.

Every year at Christmas time, we put up that shitty Christmas logo that I threw together, and this year, I've grown tired of it. I want to see something fresh, new, and shiny...something I can be proud to display on our main site.

That's where ya'll come in.

I want you to create a new improved SMU Christmas Logo. Below I have linked the plain, original year-round SMU logo (I actually cleaned it up a bit too in Photoshop. -_- I can't believe I didn' t do that before.) I want your imaginations and creativity to take hold, and create a lovely christmas logo for me.

1) You must keep the background of the logo black. You may extend beyond the size I've provided for you (just use your common sense, don't make it huge), but the background must blend with the main site, which is black. Don't resize the logo in any way...just extend and add on it.

2) The logo must depict a winter or Christmas theme.

3) You may add images, paintbrushes, patterns, etc. If you use a brush that requires credit, please credit that person/site in your entry post.

4) One entry per person, and it must be in a gif or jpg format.

5) In order to enter, you must have been a member for at least two weeks and an ACTIVE POSTER AS OF TODAY. Anyone who joins the forums after this is NOT ELIGIBLE. This isn't to be mean, but I don't want people joining just for the contest, and we have too many members who have never posted or have only posted once or twice. If you are unsure as to whether you qualify as an "active member", contact me.

NOTE: The logo DOES NOT have to have sailor moon images on it. Since the logo is already the sailor moon logo itself, you don't have to stress out trying to find the perfect-sized sailor moon image to add onto it. You're more than welcome to try, but don't feel pressured to. You can add ANYTHING wintery or christmasy, such as snowflakes, christmas lights, wreaths, candles, candy canes, ornaments, etc. Be creative, and have fun with it!

THE DEADLINE IS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3.

Prizes are as follows:

Unfortunately, I can only pick one winning logo. The Logo will be displayed all throughout December, and the creator will receive a copy of the Sailor Moon Christmas CD. If they already own it, we'll make other arrangements..I have a vast anime/sailor moon music collection.

There will be two runners-up, who will have icons made by me.

Those who joined the banner contest are also free to join this as well.

I would like you to upload the banner to your webspace (if you have one) and paste the link here, so that everyone may view your creation. If you do not have webspace, email it to me, and I'll upload it for you. DO NOT POST THE IMAGE ITSELF HERE.

Have fun, and I hope we get a lot of entries! If there are any questions, please post below!

Can we remove or cover parts of the existing logo? For example, if I wanted to just work with the "se-ra-mu-n" part and cover over the "bishoujo senshi" kanji, would that be OK?

Hrm...I wouldn't mind if part of it was covered a bit, but don't completely remove half of it. o.O It's hard for me to picture what you're talking about, without actually SEEING it.

Use your common sense in covering parts...I think that will suffice ^^

I probably should have asked if it was all right to cover a part of the logo. XD; I did it with my logo. Since it seems to be ok I'll submit my banner now.

It's nothing fancy. I just took the logo and added a santa hat to it. ^^;; Forgive me people, I'm using a normal analong mouse (my optical messed up on me a while back) so the lines are a bit shakey.

I cleaned up the logo quite a bit, and I hope that the modifications are alright with you, Tiffu. I didn't remove or resize any of the original... I just started cleaning up the area where I was going to put the holly, and the next thing I knew I had gone over the whole thing. ^_^;;

The holly and the snow were freehanded with the mouse. Me + mouse + freehand = DX

To reduce confusion that will come in less than two hours, the front page automatically loads up the xmas logo for all of December. So if you see the xmas logo appear, don't asume the contest is over. It's just my code doing its work. ^^;

Also, 50 points to the winner, 25 to each runner up.

I would have entered but I couldn't really think of anything for this one, and I've been really busy with the end of the semester lately. Otherwise I would have.

Welp, this is the end of the christmas logo contest. I really hoped for a higher turnout ;_;
