Image glitch thread

Weird O.o The banner works on my parents' computer. I'm not sure of the exact operating system, bt it's one of the ones where you can have different users and burn your own DVDs and such. Gomen, I don't know the exact name

Just to let everyone know that the banner works on my comp today!!! I was just so excited to see it that I had to post. I haven't been able to see it in a while.

I can see the banner now. I don't know what caused it. My mom just renewed Norton Anti-Computer Virus on my computer though.

I semi-give up on the banner issue. That issue seems to apply to few people and I can't get the banner to not appear for me in any situation, so I can't really troubleshoot anything regarding that.

However, the select avatars and status thingies in each user's box next to posts, is something I'll probably be figuring out until my death, since I CAN actually get to points where I can have those issues (until I login) so I can check on things with that. Looks like I've got a hell of a goal for the new year regarding figuring that one out. -_-;;

Thanks Dan. I really appreciate the work you put into the site and everything. The banner issue doesn't really bother me that much, so it's not a big deal. However, if a banner is posted that didn't come from a contest here, do you think you guys can make a thread dedicated to the banner (or even just post it here), so that those of us who can't see the banner can?

I figured out something on my computer, maybe this is also on other people's computers about the banner:

I have Norton Firewall installed on my computer. Whenever it's enabled the banner won't appear, but whenever the firewall is disabled it will.

I know, it's weird. I can also see your red, white and blue stars, both on the board and in the memerlist.

This is a sort of image glitch, but maybe not. Every time I shut down my browser (Opera) and restart it, when I go to the SMU forums I'm not logged in. So I log in and it says I'm logged in but the login button is still there and none of the new posts show up with the different colored image that tells you it's an unread post. I can get around it by going to a topic anonymously, hitting reply, and logging in on that screen, then going back to the forum main page. But sometimes I forget to do that.

So not a major problem, but if Dan's ever bored, maybe something to look at. ^_^

Now that you mention it, I realise that I forgot to mention the fact that I can't see my stars either when I'm logged out.

EDIT: I should mention that I cannot see the banner whatsoever, whether I'm logged in or out.

This year has been anything but boring, trust me. I do plan on trying to figure out what's going on, but there's more important things I'd like to get done first, and I'd have to do it at a time where I'm not pissed off at something as well (since this will only frustrate me more), and those times seem to be few and scattered this year. It's on my list of stuff to get done, but when excatly that will happen is up in the air.

I just logged in and the banner suddenly appeared!! I hope I can still see it when I log out! That is a really lovely banner, Tiffu! It's just too bad I didn't get to see it earlier for Easter.

EDIT: Yes! I can still see the banner when I'm logged out! That came as a nice surprise today because I wasn't expecting it. I hadn't been able to see the banner since Tiff put up the one for the Russian school children.

2ND EDIT: I shut down my computer, come back to it, and I no longer see the banner! WTF?
