Image glitch thread

Hmmmm.... Well, I can see the banner perfectly, but I can't see RoastedTwinkies avatar or stars.

RoastedTwinkies: Maybe your avatar can't be seen because of where you're hosting it? The stars... No idea, lol.

That's weird though. I've always uploaded my avatars to SMU directly from my computer.

EDIT: I turned off my computer and came back, and I no longer see the banner.

That won't work, since I have remote avatars disabled since there's no way for me to keep a control of file and image sizes for them.

I see the banner again! But I'll probably jinx it again. I still don't see my avatar or my stars when I'm logged out.

Hey Dan, any theories as to why the banner keeps appearing on my screen once in a blue moon, and then disappearing most of the time?

Well, I reformatted my computer last night and now I can see the banners 100% of the time. I'm not sure about my avatar though...

Okay, this is a weird one and I don't know if I can explain it right.

You know when there's a new post in a topic and the little page symbol turns yellow. Well it's not working right for me. Usually when I read a new post and then leave the topic, the yellow symbol turns white again, but this time it's still stays yellow. I went back and forth between the topic I just read and it still stays yellow. But after going back and forth, eventually all the yellow pages turn white, even the topics I haven't read yet.

@_@ I don't know if anyone got what I just said, but that's the best I can do to explain it.

I've had that problem too. Sometimes it's all the boards and one time it was just Other Anime and Manga. It's treatable by reading all the new posts and then logging out.

I don't know if I'm the only one, or if this is really a "glitch," but I can't see Sailor Space's avatar. However, UNLIKE RT's "its just not there" thing, Sailor Space's av appears as a broken pic (the little red 'x'). I've tried several times to 'show picture' but it still remains broken. I must be the only person, though, because no one else has brought it up.

Also, sometimes that yellow/white message thing happens to me, but usually it just all turns white, which is really annoying, since then I can't remember what topics I did read, and which I didn't get to.

No, it's the same for me to. I didn't bring it up though because Akuri Kibuno's was like that for a few days and turned back to normal, so I thought Sailor Space's would do the same.

There's a small chance that these avatars didn't make it over to the new server. I'd have them reuploaded to make sure.

After reformatting my computer, I still can't see my avatar when I'm logged out. I can't see Akarui Kibuno's avatar.. all I see is "Avatar" with a little red X beside it.

Don't worry, Dan said that some avatars didn't make it over, and that red X means that it can't find the image, so Akarui and your av were ones that didn't make it over.

...on another note, for as long as I've seen your posts, RoastedTwinkies, I've never seen an avatar for you.

It's normal for mine anyway. I made a new one, but the damn thing is one kB above the limit XD ... so I can't use it for now... unless I open it again trying to see if I can save it with lower quality (problem is, the damn thing is in gif already

...) .

Bah, I'm sure I'll find a way (I deleted lots of software lately so I don't think I still have that thing to do the job T_T ... ) ...

I have fixed RoastedTwinkies's avatar problem.

With SlrJoeCool's help. XD

He noticed certain profile settings, and since I'm an admin, I began poking around in your settings, RT. You had "no" selected for, "display my web informations", which disabled your avatar. I switched it to yes, and voila. It lives.

The reason I could see it, and Dan could see it, is becuase we're admins, and even if you choose for something to be hidden, we can still see it.

If your avatar is not showing up, here's what you do:

Go to Profile.
Click on the "Profile" tab.
Click on "Profile Settings"
Click on "Privacy"
Select "yes" for "Display my web informations"

XD I'm going to make a sticky topic with this info for people who need help with it from now on.

I AM TEH WIN.
