ADV Fixes Glitches (10/8/03 and 10/10/03)
Moderators: SMU Staff, SMU Chibi-Mods
It probably does. It seems the errors are on everyones, but unless it's really, really awful like completely noticable shaking for more than fifteen seconds, it really shouldn't bother anyone unless they're waaaaay obsessed with that episode.
Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....
Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

It's not 15 seconds long, but it IS noticeable, and a defect that ADV could have corrected. Thus, I see nothing wrong with wanting to return it; it's a defective disc and if it can be fixed, so be it.

The thing is for me, I didn't notice a lick of it. Like everyone else said, it varies from player to player. Although I will say ADV did a craptacular job basically concerning both sets, I think the R one is worse because that one is noticable no matter what. Besides, does anyone here watch it a lot who has it bad? I find people usually watch 45-46 the most but that's in my area.Starscream wrote:It's not 15 seconds long, but it IS noticeable, and a defect that ADV could have corrected. Celexa: I can't speak for the rest of the forum, but I like to watch either certain favorite eps (that one, the revelation of the Princess, etc.) or go on a marathon and watch the whole thing. So that ep ends up coming around in my regular viewing rather often.
Tiff: Nice line. I'm gonna use it from now on :P

Ah. Usually I watch them once then I see them again if I feel the need to or need them for reference. But like you said, I can't speak for everyone else. I watch my stuff alot. I paid for it so I'm not gonna let it sit.Celexa wrote:Question to everyone: What do you usually do?
For instance I watched my Gundam Wing set 3 times and am 10 eps into run #4.
The POKéMON movies I've at least watched 3 times each.
Heck, I'm even 10 eps into Sailor Moon Classic's second run.
Setup an animation night like I did. Take all your series, pick a time, and watch one episode of each a week. It'll take a couple hours of your time depending how many series you got but since it's only one day a week it's not much of a nuisance.
*nods* I've watched my stuff over and over. I can't event count how many times i've watched my stars tapes...and just recently, I re-watched S for like, the third time.

This is all well and good - but what if you live OUTSIDE the US?? I have noticed that ADV have made no provision on their site for International returns (I live in Australia).MarioKnight wrote:First Season Replacement info:

They're probably legally obligated to make no provision for international returns. Their license is for the US only, and although many people who live overseas do import the US releases, they're not meant to according to ADV's license, and ADV is not supposed to acknowledge them.Mistfall wrote:This is all well and good - but what if you live OUTSIDE the US?? If you're bothered by the issues that are being fixed, the only solution is to mail your DVD(s) to someone in the US and get them to post it off. It'll end up more expensive, but international shipping isn't that much for light packages. I'd help, but I live in the UK... dunno if there's anyone here who would be willing to do it.

Thanks for the reply. I sat down last night and seriously observed the eps that had the glitches... and well I can deal with them.Obsessive Touga Fan wrote:They're probably legally obligated to make no provision for international returns. Struggling with international post all the way from Oz is like playing Russian roulette with a black hole... I'd rather not take the risk
I'm thinking of contacting the people I brought the boxset form and asking them what to do send it to them or to ADV.
I wouldn't really bother but I notcie it jumping and everything adn it gives me headaces

What's strange to me is that it's a HYUUGE error on some disks and on others it's hardly noticable! I don't get that, wouldn't all disks be the same?

No, it most likely depends on the master episode. Don't take my word for it, though.Celexa wrote:What's strange to me is that it's a HYUUGE error on some disks and on others it's hardly noticable! I don't get that, wouldn't all disks be the same?
