Over the past few weeks or so, it has become QUITE evident that new members are NOT reading the rules. Let me get a few things straight.

It is VERY easy to see when a new member has and has not read the rules. If you display behavior that leads us to believe that you have NOT read the rules, you're automatically on our list. It's getting so bad lately that any member with only one star is automatically on our list. I would want NOTHING more than to see a new member who obviously had read the rules. I would shower them with praise.

Second, DO NOT GET DEFENSIVE WITH THE MODS. Period. Do not argue with the mods. Do not challenge the mods. You wont win. Period. All it will do is make us like you less. Just take what the mods have said into consideration and MOVE ON. Not only will it avoid confrontation, but if you do so it'll make the mods like you more since the mods are the FIRST to "Move on". Take an example from them.

Third, the mods are NOT out to get you! It seems like I have to hammer this into your heads, but i'll say it again, the MODS ARE NOT OUT TO GET YOU. This forum has extremely strict rules. The mods enforce these rules (if you want to go to a forum without such strict rules, please do so, but you wont find them here). If you post something off-topic, the mod will say you did and tell you to get back on topic. This doesn't mean the mod hates you, or thinks your stupid, or ANYTHING. The mod is simply doing their job. More than likely the mod doesn't think ANYTHING OF the post. So take the mods advice into consideration, and move on. The quicker you fully follow the rules and listen to the mods, the quicker you will ease into a comfortable posting pattern on the boards.

I want all the nonsense of the past few weeks to END NOW. It is not impossible to survive on these boards. We have many members who have several hundred posts. They've seemed to have done just fine. Many have broken the rules. Many have done things the mods have had something to say about. They're still here and are still posting and are doing well. It happens to almost every member. Don't take it so personally.

I'm personally sick of the "wounded victim" treatment that some members are throwing at mods because they are doing their jobs. What I mean is; Mod : "Please get back on topic" Member : "Jesus Christ! It was just one time. Get over it."
Accept the fact you were reprimanded. Take it like an adult and not some child .

Bob said it and I'm going to stress it; No power is out to get a newbie/member. I'm tired of the mods being treated like tyrants for doing their jobs.
If you're called on something, you must have done something wrong. There is no defensiveness or paranoia needed.

Thank you, it's really getting annoying when I go to post and there's a shite load of posts from some sensitive newbie who feels like she's being hunted by the big bad admin

You guys are doing a good job and really seem like you're trying to keep you're temper (which must be very hard). People need to calm down, it's not like the admins and mods are eating the newbie's for breakfast :pictures Tiffu mixing a salad of dismembered limbs and serving it to the mods:

If the admins and mods were doing something wrong, they wouldn't have, I'd say, a good thirty average posters.

Yeah. The mods here are great, and they're only doing their jobs. I've messed up a few times here, and I didn't take it personally. It's not the end of the world if you get called on for something. Just take what the mod said to you and try not to mess up again. Also, if there was a tyrannical mod here who abused their power, their power would obviously be taken away by the admins. Anyway, guys, you've done a great job here, so keep it up!

Wow. That is an all-time, all-world, A-list, money post. That should be sticky on every moderated forum I know of.

To have to read exchanges between newbies and mods is embarrasing and awkward for everyone. It's like sitting next to a fighting couple in a restaurant. I don't understand why someone who's gone against the rules wants to air all the dirty laundry in public, unless they think it'll inspire sympathy for them and rebellion against the mods from other users. But that shows a lack of logic, since if we were so anti-mod, why would we be here? So my mind boggles.

Now, the question is, how do we see to it that all new users read this post and the rules. Anyone else read/seen A Clockwork Orange? ^_^

Wow. Amen, Bob.

I'm sick of, like all older members, how people act like the mods are being "Cruel, evil" people towards member who didn't read the rules anyway. I LIKE how this forum is strict. We don't get tons of crap in posts, we don't get tons of people going off topic and not getting reprimaded, we don't get one-sentence posts like "Yeah" and "I agree" and the ever-dreaded "bump". We get DISCUSSION, and the mods make it enjoyable for everyone.

I think that, like Bob said, just about every member has gotten in trouble in some form here. We still post, we don't take it personally, we move on. It's good rules are enforced. If a person is being reprimaded by the mods a lot, the person is likely breaking a lot of rules, and the person often needs to realize that.

Bob, Tempest, and everyone else said it perfect well. We're not out to get people. We understand that you're new, but that means you should have read the rules recently. Of course it's going to seem like we're picking on you. An older member has most likely built up a good rapport, and has learned from his or her mistakes. For instance, there have been times when PeachVampiress has been reprimanded. She understood it and accepted that it wasn't a personal attack. She's been here for quite a while, and understands how things work. If she makes a simple mistake, we're going to be more lenient with her because we know she's not always going to do it. And I'm just using PeachVampiress as an example cause I <3 her, and know that she understands. Seriously, even us mods have been reprimanded before. No one is perfect, and we understand that.

That works too, though it was a bust of Beethoven in the book. But, for those who don't know, I was thinking of the scene where Alex is bound to his chair with his eyelids clipped open and forced to watch scenes of sex and violence. It's pretty gruesome, but for some people, it might be worth it. ^_^

It wasn't anything in particular. I was just using your name as an example. I don't remember what anybody ever does, so if you did do something, your guess is as good as mine.

Thread unlocked. The whole Snake fiasco has been deleted from this forum and moved into the staff forum where only mods/admins can view it. It was just far too out of hand, and frankly, a disrespect to all those who are on these forums. Now, it's over, let's get back on topic with this thread. Thanks.

By the way, Snake has been banned. His behavior was untolerable. For all those who did see the whole fiasco, take a note that that is the way NOT to act in the forums. To be a good forum user, act the exact opposite. ^^; Thanks.

Now that all that garbage is behind us, once again, thanks to all the mods and admins for keeping this place from turning into a zoo. The whole Snake business would have turned into complete chaos (it sort of already did for a while there, despite everyone's warnings, before the admins stepped in!) if these forms weren't moderated. Thank you all. You guys are great.

Pointless posts that are redundant or self promoting like "which animamate is ur fav", "which animamate excluding galaxia is ur fav", "which manga only animamate is ur fav", "ckeck oout my nuw site it roks da kazba", "wich sensis ass cheek is ur fav" (copyright Anthy ~_^).

Don't worry about it, Tiff. I support you 110%. That whole thing really pushed my buttons because I used to be made fun of because of my weight. So, I know how horrible it can be, and it hurt me to watch another person go through the same thing. Though I don't know you very well, I know that you're such a sweet, funny and wonderful person. Don't let stupid people like that get you down.

I just want to thank all the users who are showing their support for Tiff. It makes me feel all warm and snuggly when I see others rally up against the assholes of the world like Snake, who just can't deal with a few simple rules.
