I imagine the quality of Classic and R is a bit distorted because sailormoon was orginally made in 1990 I think. I believe earlier in this topic it was mentioned that some damage might have happened to the masters. It's quite possiable that the grainy video and distorted sound isn't even ADV's fault...

Not sure. It really depends on the types of anime that you like. I guess it's really boils down to personal preference. I happen to like some stuff better dubbed then I do subbed.
