I wouldn't recommend that until after a full viewing of the series. There are just too many series-specific references to be comprehensible to the uninitiated viewer.

If you like psychological stuff, try Revolutionary Girl Utena (anime) and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Of course, if you don't like big robot battles, you're screwed as far as Evangelion goes. Utena has all the magical girl anime trappings, but since you are a Sailor Moon fan that shouldn't be a problem.

I'm loving it. So freaking much. The battle system is awesome, and the voice-acting is vastly improved over X and X-2. This game is going to rule my life.

If I hadn't spent a little while reading the player's guide, I wouldn't have had a clue about what was going on in the opening cinematic. <_<;
