In anime, I suppose it would be Legato from Trigun and Vicious from Cowboy Bepop. In manga I would say Nakago from Fushigi Yugii (I've only read the manga, I haven't seen the anime yet) and Adrian Clay from Boys Next Door (it was a manga that was featured in Hana to Yume I believe).

My memory of S isn't that great, but I thought that Hotaru was cool/cute. But yah...she does only appear in few episodes as Sailor Saturn. I thought she was good in Stars though. She's kinda adorable...a heck of a lot more than Chibi Usa!

I've read the first volume of Fushigi Yuugi. It's an 18 volume series, however the first part of the story ends at volume 13, I believe.
