Meh, I'm sure it's less to do with such an absurd idea as it is to curb the influence of the Dalai Lama, i.e., I'm in agreement with the article's point about that. In other Chinese news, a family wants to give their child a unique name. It seems that "XD" was already taken, though . I mean...*sigh*...

The phrase "insert Deity", especially when used online, as a way to avoid the use of "God" for whatever reason. If you're trying to avoid insulting someone's faith, give it up; it's the internet. Anyone offended by "Thank Allah" should just stop browsing right now. If you're using it as a joke of so...

I've never really heard a good argument for blocking websites. The two basic arguments are that 1) School computers are for learning and working only, and 2) Surfing the web can allow malware to be dropped on the PC, at best only using up more resources (processor cycles, memory, etc.) and at worst...

Another problems with Rat is the lack of merchandising and tie-ins, aka peripheral advertising. A part of the problem was that very few knew it was in theaters. No buzz was being made for it, thus no one cared. Eh. I can't think of a Pixar movie since Toy Story 2 that really had a high level of tie...

I don't think it's late enough for us to call it a flop. Certainly not the block-buster success Disney hoped it would be, but I think it will at least break even, if not a bit more. As for why? Easy: Transformers and Harry Potter. It came out a scant 3 days before TF; after that, forget it. TF domin...

TAKE THAT! Understanding how single cortical neurons discriminate between sensory stimuli is fundamental to providing a link between cortical neural responses and perception. The discrimination of sensory stimuli by cortical neurons has been intensively investigated in the visual and somatosensory ...

...someone apologizes on behalf of a country or race because of the actions of a few bad apples. Unless you are the leader/representative of that culture or what have you, what do YOU have to be sorry for? And who are YOU to speak for the whole group? Yeah, it's awful that some redneck insulted X ra...

...the Sailorstars series has explict content, particularly nudity & Mild Language. Mild language? Depends on the fansub; I don't think anything said by the cast of Sailormoon could be considered "mild", and if so, they could probably get away with it on Toonami. Every now and then, a Japanese word ...

Back in the day, my brothers and I collected first baseball, then basketball cards. We still have a HUGE box full of cards that we need to go through and perhaps sell sometime. As I got older and got into anime, I shifted to collecting Sailor Moon cards of all kind, so I have a binder filled with al...

Man this is an issue that bothers me as much as "token" replacements in movies. I always personally hated things that "separate" men from women such as standards like woman are weak and frail and cannot handle things men can or that we are overly emotional so we should be cut slack on things. But t...
