Usagi's second locket shows a star surrounded by stones representing the other senshi, but while Mercury, Venus and Jupiter's stones are all on the outside of the star, Mars' in on the inside, closest to the moon at the center. This was probably because it would look strange having it at any of the ...

I've just found an instance where the editors of the dub got lazy and didn't do any blurring on one of Mercury's half length transformations. Here is the best screencap I could get of it. It happens in dub episode 48 "Raye's Day in the Spotlight."

Supreme Thunder is changed to Supreme Thunder Crash. The Crescent Moon Wand retains its name. Moon Healing Escalation is changed to Moon Healing Activation. I thought the wand was originally called the "Moon Stick" in engrish. I recall laughing at the ADV subtitles which said Cresent Moon Wand when...

I happened to catch the tail end of Yu-Gi-Oh! while waiting for Friends to come on...and there was this brown-haired character, a villian, who had the strangest accent...It was British, but almost a Cockney (sp?) british..like Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady. I've never, ever heard that sort of a...

I think it would be good to get a dub devoid of extremely regionalised words and terms like 'dollars' which completly detract from the series when viewed internationally. (also hearing 'dollars' and 'Tokyo' in the same episode in just plain wrong)

Jupiter
And so away; no father with your din
Express impatience, lest you stir up mine.
Mount eagle, to my palace crystalline.
Ascends into the heavens

NB. This is from Shakespeare's Cymbeline. I think it's only funny if you've been sitting up all night studying for a tutuorial on it.

I might have worded it badly, but I meant the English dub version, how could you know how the dub name is spelt? In the credits. I know they listed voice actors in credits, but I don't believe that they list who-does-what like they do in movie credits. I mean, I know they do it most of the time now...

In Yami no Matsuei when trying to pass security guards on a ship, Tsusuki shouts.

"I have no money!"

Was he trying to bribe them?

Also, I'm surprised no one's mentioned Usagi's glorious

"Pleased to meet you cream stew!"

My two favorites would have to be Les Mis (which I've seen on the stage) and Phantom (which I've only seen in the cringing film adaptation). At the moment though I've been scowering the net trying to find the musical of Hunter X Hunter but it's very ellusive.

Ah! Now I understand. I use a multi-region play (when I'm at home) as we buy US, Japanese and HongKong DVDs. It's far easier to collect anime that way. Where is region 1 and region 2? I can never remember such things.

Pipestrell (can I assume that you're replying to me?), I live in Australia, not North America. While it isn't at all likely that it will ever be shown down here, Madman have expressed interest in releasing the DVDs--indeed, now that the market for anime is wider than what it was five years ago (whe...

That would only be if there were channels in NA that would be willing to show it in that format, which isn't all that likely considering what a select audience it would be aimed at. On a site like this it may seem like there's no end to 'mahou-shoujo-sub' fans, but from the point of view of the chan...

In Queen Beryl's very first scene, watch closely and you'll see her crystal ball disappear for a second. Episode 31 features an advertisement for Tenchi Muyo (on the bus that Rhett Butler is standing on). Some early epsiodes contain subliminal messages hidden in flashes, explosions and so on. In ep...
