KB Toy outlet is a great place to check. I found 2 of the 18" dolls there for about $6 apiece. Comic book stores may not be a bad idea, either- mine has the other 18" dolls for $11 apiece. They also carry the Bandai dolls, man those things are frightening.

I still think it'd be impossible to remake that movie and have it be as good, let alone even pump in SFX that could rival the original. I don't even think Peter Jackson could do it.
