There were a couple of magical girl series where the girls battled evil and not just dressed up in girly outfits or become pop singers, yeah, but Sailor Moon was the first ot make it a consistent plot point in the series, and one of the first (but not the first) to have a team of magical girls figh...

[spoiler]First off, I think the book was mistitled. For what we actually see of the Half-Blood Prince, the whole freakin' book doesn't need to be named thus. The situation is similar, IMO, to Sirius's death; way too underdeveloped. It's like "Oh, by the way, I'm the real Half-Blood Prince! See ya!"...

I have just finished reading the volumes 1 and 2, and I love it. Azuma Kiyohiko has a great sense of humor, and Yotsuba is one of the cutest characters ever. I really like the story where she pretends to be a gangster and gets "revenge" on the neighbors. Dad: "So how did your revenge go?" Yotsuba: "...

Prettiest Inner Scout: Sailor Moon (by far)
Sexiest Inner Scout: Sailor Mars
Prettiest Outer Scout: Sailor Pluto (by far)
Sexiest Outer Scout: Sailor Pluto (by far)
Uh... I'm confused. How exactly did you differentiate between "prettiest" and "sexiest"? Aren't they basically the same?

[spoiler] From what I can see, it's very unlikely that Snape is truly evil. I'm thinking it's more likely that he was acting on Dumbledore's orders, and there's quite a lot to back this theory up. Dumbledore was acting like a man aware of his impending death: he passed all his knowledge and speculat...

This goes back to me noticing how the three talismans of the Outer Senshi correlate to the 3 mythical treasures of Japan. I also noticed that the items sort of correspond to the powers or personalities of the owners. Mirror - Symbolizes fair judgement by revealing all things as it truly is, regardle...

What if in the SailorStars anime, the the Starlights did not change genders but just stayed male or female? Which one do you think the animators would have picked? Having them be girls would be closer to the manga, but I honestly think it would have been simpler if the Starlights were just guys all ...

All these laws against downloading media reminds me of a quote by Andrew Jackson. "The Courts have made their decision, now let them try and enforce it." Seriously, downloading media is here to stay. Millions of people do it every day, and no authority and catch all of them. The odds are on your sid...

This does, trust me! "Slice of life" shows = good in my book. Thank you so much! You're welcome. Glad I can help. If you are into "slice of life" anime, I would also recommend Neia_7 (thats pronounced Neia Under 7). Its made by the same person who makes Haibane Renmei. This series, however, is abou...

~"As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being." ~Carl Jung I really like that quote. Here are a few more of mine. I was just thinking of starting this topic. Personally, I like this series. The concept is sort of like a Sliders (anybody remember that sci-fi show about parallel universe?) meets CLAMP. The story is pretty good, and the characters are interesting. I really like the music, the opera and violin BGM ...

Personally, I highly recommend this series. It is one of the finest anime series I have ever seen. However, I will try to give as fair an analysis as possible for you. Pros: Very good animation - everything is in a unique sepia tone which gives the art a certain cozy elegance. The animation is very ...

I've thought up a few more. "Hatred outlives the hateful." - Magic the Gathering card "It is true that I have sent six bullets through the head of my best friend, and yet I hope to show by this statement that I am not his murderer." - H.P. Lovecraft "The Thing on the Doorstep." My signature also hap...

Maybe I've been reading too much Powerpuff girl online doujinshi, but doesn't that guy at the bottom of the poster look a lot like Dexter?

The actor who does the Phantom. Good acting, but your voice needs work. A LOT of work. It has potential, but your coach should be fired or reprimanded for what seems like rushed rehersals. I can't really blame that guy for coming up short, since he's only been training for about a year before filmi...

One of the worst movies I have ever seen was "The Power of One." It was directed by the guy who directed "The Karate Kid." With a title like that I was expecting it to be kinda corny, but I figured it could be done well. Boy was I wrong. The whole concept of it was a "Rocky" in during South African ...

Here are some quotes that I thought were pretty good: "Do not go gentle into that good night Old age should burn and rave at close of day Rage, rage against the dying of the light" - Dyltan Thomas "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness could not comprehend it." - Gospel of John 'The tru...
