FYI, I think Squeenix has dropped the price on the PC (base) version since Chains of Promathia came out - we saw it for $30 last weekend. If you go on and pick up CoP at the same time, you'd only be shelling out ~60. I've been going back and forth a lot over whether to go on and buy CoP now or hold ...

Thanks for the links - got 'em. The 2004 See Me, Boku-Tachi no Jidai is sung well, but the "Wai, wai, wai!" in the background is kind of a nuisance, IMO. I'd like it a lot better if the audience didn't participate. Link's nice, but I think my "favorite Myu song" award goes to L'amour D'amour Moonlig...

Raptor: You do know that the resource book being referred to here isn't a strategy guide for Another Story, right? It's along the lines of Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop RPGs. It's been out of print for several years (the publisher lost the license). It is a good resource up to a point, and i...

This kind of thing is why I utterly loathe pop psychology...people write books and promote them as if they're good science, without any sort of research to back them up. That rant aside, while quite a few psychologists over the years (the earliest I've heard of is Alfred Adler around the turn of the...

Celexa: It makes sense that that count would include the Kaiteban (revisions). Sometimes the changes seem to be pretty minor, but in a few cases they've swapped stuff around a good bit and spiffed things up. :) I'm glad to hear the revised See Me, Boku-Tachi no Jidai is good - I'm by no means a Star...

FYI, folks, you might want to make sure you're viewing the most recent version of the forums - sometimes things look like they're still broken because you're viewing an old version of the page in your web browser's cache. Check the help files for your browser for instructions on how to clear your br...

I look at it this way: Nintendo's actually going for the casual gamers or the people really looking for multiplayer stuff to do with the family. Mario Kart, Mario Party, the Super Monkey Ball games, and even SSBM are perfect examples of that - you get a bunch of people together, a few controllers, m...

*mod mode* Topic merged with old FF topic */mod mode* As for the game itself, I'm not sure about it. It's dropping the turn-based battle system for the new "real time" system found in Tales of Symphonia and Star Ocean 3. I like the turn-based system. But, if the plot sounds good enough, it should m...

Final Fantasy XII

I got a copy of Official PlayStation Magazine at random in the mail, and inside is a short blurb on FFXII, and the first pictures I've seen of the entire cast. I don't think this merits spoiler tags, but will add them if it's deemed necessary... The majority of the cast looks alike. Blonde people wh...

Yeah, I just tried viewing RT's profile (in Firefox 0.9; haven't tried in Opera yet) and it's as if she'd never uploaded an avatar. I'll clear my cache and cookies, try it again, and edit this post. Edit: After clearing cache, clearing cookies, and updating to Firefox 1.0 preview, nothing's changed....

I'm in the "can't see RT's avatar club", and it's persisting on 3 different computers, in FireFox (0.9 is installed on one computer and 1.0 preview is installed on a second, and it's occurring in both), Opera 7.54, and IE 6, after clearing out my cache, clearing my cookies, and restarting the browse...

RoastedTwinkies: The musicals are an entity unto themselves; no one working on PGSM has any influence over them. That said, the summer musical ran as usual, and they're looking for a new Moon for the winter 2005 musical, as the current one, Marina Kuroki, left after the summer musical. This isn't un...

Honestly? Any show that's resorting to bad incest jokes in only its second or third episode will not last long. If they'd taken a page from Frasier's book (which is the manual for making a successful spinoff of a long-running, successful series), it would have been good. They took a page from the wr...

Tokyo Babylon is a prequel to X, so if you like X, it's probably right up your alley. It's very good - I own all of it in Japanese thanks to a friend. :)

As for my favorites... I'd have to say Tokyo Babylon, X, and Wish, but CCS is very cute and so is Angelic Layer.

FYI, Shingetsu's put out an update to their update - it seems one of their translators made a small mistake when looking at TOEI's update, and the small mistake led to a rather large change in the sentence's meaning. So, based on the re-translation, I'm pretty sure that Act 49 was it for the series.

The average cost of prosecuting a death penalty case? 1.2 million dollars.

It doesn't cost 1.2 million dollars to feed and clothe people.

And THIS is why we work together; he says what I mean to before I can. :) Yeah, there are plenty of magical girls who know their stuff and aren't stupid - Himeno from Pretear is a fantastic example. And there are plenty of ditzes who couldn't save the world except through pure dumb luck. Usagi's spe...
