Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson. Renowned American superstar and musical genius. The ever-eccentric King of Pop. The original dancin' machine. The "black man turned white woman", as some will claim. The alleged "child molester". The guy who wrote and composed "Thriller" (1982), the #1 best-selling album until "The ...

I can see all of you prefer the anime over the manga, and that's fair enough, but there's one thing about the manga that I think is superior to the anime: No Nanami. What's the point of her being there in the anime other to be an annoying filler character providing useless melodrama and comic relief...

Blair Witch 2 sucked really hard, IMO. I wasn't scared at all. Most of it was comprised of just a bunch of pointless nudity and sex. The original movie was at least slightly creepy and felt very real (since it was made to look like an actual documentary), though I'll admit that neither movies are m...

OT: Aside from a lot of you supposedly having autism, isn't there ANYBODY within these forums that is actually outgoing and doesn't have social problems of some sort? When asked what type of person he/she is, most people here seem to give the same answer: "shy, lonely, (cold-hearted) introvert". I k...

Oh, man. I just witnessed another masterpiece last night: Monster (2003), starring Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. It's based off of the story of Aileen Wuornos, highway prostitute and America's first female serial killer. Beautiful, occasionally violent, uber-depressing, and tremendously well-...

WAI! Another Edward Scissorhands lover! :D

Speaking of Carrie (which was a great movie, yes), I could hardly believe Sissy Spacek (who played Carrie) was in her late 20's in that movie. She looked a lot younger.

As I mentioned in the other thread, my back is bent at 50 degrees. That's not extremely severe, but once a spine curvature hits 50 degrees or over, it's time to get something done about it. I'm going to be operated on most likely towards the end of summer. I had the choice of whether or not I wanted...

I have scoliosis. An idiopathic 50-degree curvature in my lower spine to be exact. I should be getting my surgery within a month or so. They're not going to get my back completely straight (for the reason of wanting to leave some flexibility in it), but they're going to take at least 35 degrees off,...

Greatest Movies Ever

Well, we've had several "favorite film" threads, but overall, what would you say are just some of the best films ever created?, animated, live action, or otherwise (and you don't have to go in-depth if you don't want to)? My list is: Toy Story (the original.. AND sequel... I guess) Shrek (the origin...

Spiders. My fear of them is so great it takes over my mind and just eats away at me. I don't mind tiny spiders, of course, but the big ones, especially harmful ones like Black Widows and Brown Recluses... oh, jeez...

Well, no, I don't mean eaten alive by the mods. I was being slightly sarcastic, and you know how some message board strollers (not necessarily here) can be ("Dude, this thread is so old"... and whatnot).

Not meaning to have a negative attitude towards others' opinions, but I don't get why everyone loved Toy Story 2 so much and thought it was so much better than its predecessor. Sure it was a bit longer and brought up slightly more mature and emotionally involving themes, but I just got more laughs a...

All the characters' noses are pointy in the series, but they say it grows on you as you keep watching, and I agree with them when they declare it a nice change from the usual tiny anime noses.

Yeah, Hitomi is an angst-ridden wimp in the movie. They don't even give a reason for her perpetual misery. She's just depressed for no reason. She's not as bad as Evangelion's Shinji Ikari, though.
