Can we use animated gifs for our avatars?

Can we use animated gifs for our avatars? (Provided they are within the file size and dimension limits.)

Avatars are meant to identify yourself amongst other people in a forum by using a small image. There's really no need for bigger pics and/or animated gifs since again, just like images in signatures, they are just a waste of space and suck up bandwidth.

understandble but too bad. I just made an awesome gif, but then I read the rules, so it was a waste :/

Not really. There's plenty of places where you can use it.

I was a looking around, and sadly most places dont allow an avatar over 29K while mine is 45K and shouldnt be compressed anymore so :/

(it's usagi dancing, lol)
