sailor moon movie cast ideas

I think Ashley Tisdal would be a better Venus, and Brenda Song... well, yah, Venus. That was good.
As far as Disney People go, Alyson Michalka (This is the correct spelling), I think she could be a good Mercury. I personally don't think she is good enough an actress to be given the role of Sailor Moon. Mercury probably wouldn'ty be the highlight of the movie, thus Michalka isn't the highlight of our viewership (I love made up words).

If they were to make a live-action movie...
I know it's a one in a million shot...But if they were to make a Hollywood movie out of Sailor Moon, which actress whould you have in the roles of the characters?
Sorry if there was something similar, or if this is against the rules I looked through the last six pages and couldn't find anything like this, so....
In my movie I would have...
Jayla Rubinelli as Rei
Nicole Borud as Ami
Nicole Linkletter as Mako
Joanie Dodds as Venus
Tyra Banks as Beryl (She already has the hair)
Amanda Swafford as Pluto
Kari Schmidt as Usagi

Its like asking the author of "To Kill A Mockingbird" to write a sequal. Answer would be no. The actors are too old to wear sailor suits, the originals moved onto bigger and better things, and everything was pretty much covered in the special act. In other words, there are no new plots to explore and exploit.

Actually, yes, there is a topic exactly like this.
Your topic has been merged.
(And as you'll see, we've already managed to agree that such actresses are far too old to play 14 year old girls)

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Emma Watson as Mercury. Wow, talk about major typecasting.
Yeah, Hilary Duff might have made a good Sailor Moon in my opinion but she is a little too old for the role (of course Lindsay Lohan was in the same boat back when this idea surfaced).
Unforunately, I can't think of any others--not up-to-date on 13-17 year-old actresses.
Orlando Bloom as Tuxedo Mask, though. Yeah I can definitely see that.

I'm not sure how much I would want us Americans to make a Sailor Moon movie....They'd probably go by the dub that we all just LOVE so much...Yeah, I wouldn't want that at all.
But I'd agree that new actors the same age as the Senshi would be best, especially if that gets rid of the chance that Disney Channel actresses could get in it. Just the thought of them in Sailor Suits portraying a character I like....ew.

I there ever was a live-action movie, I hope the actresses can just dye their hair rather than wear wigs. Looking at the live-action TV show...no.
The Facts of the Animal Kingdom:
"Zebras can bite."
"Snakes say sss."
"Lions chase people."
And of course…”Tigers bite you.”

And one from me...Leopards are gorgeous.

Hell no. I adored the hair in the live action. It was perfect, IMO.SeiUsa wrote:I there ever was a live-action movie, I hope the actresses can just dye their hair rather than wear wigs. Looking at the live-action TV show...no.

Neither did I. Of course, Jedite IN GENERAL was fucking ugly (god, the teeth), but I loved everybody's hair in that show.Fruityla wrote:
In PGSM everyone thinks Jedite's wig is awful >>; but I didn't think it was bad at all, really.
I mean, the point was to bring the anime to life...and to do that, you have to exagerrate some things, becuase obviously real life doesn't equal anime/cartoon.

Ooh, I think Emily Osment would be a cute Usagi.

Heck, even if Sailor Moon was redubbed, Emily could provide the voice.

Hmm...Suri Cruise would make a cute baby Hotaru.
Heck, maybe she will make a great Hotaru when she's older.

Three words : open casting auditions. If that happened the only people to audition would probably already be SM fans, and who better to play the parts than someone who knows the characters inside and out? I don't go for the live-action SM very much. It was OK, but I prefer the animation.
The Music of the Night and Tuxedo Mirage are what keep me from going completely INSANE! (right...)
I think Amy Lee of Evanescence would make a lovely Pluto. This here makes me think of PLuto for some reason.

Sharon den Adel, the lead singer of the band Within Temptation, would make a nice Nehelina.

Oh boy. The rumors have started up again.
Joss Whedon is supposedly set to direct a live-action Sailor Moon film.
This was reported by the Sailor Moon Soapbox. I'm cringing after reading the cast list but I think we should all remain skeptical.

Consider me one of the non-believers. I stated on a similar discussion on another board that before they could even hope to to a live action version of Sailor Moon here in the US, they'd have to go through licensing and rights issues with Takeuchi-sensei and Toei. Not to mention the fact that some of the actresses they want in the parts would be a bit too old to play 15-year-old girls.Jeff wrote:Oh boy. The rumors have started up again.
