Animation errors.

What're some animation errors in Sailor Moon that you've noticed? One that comes to me at the top of my mind is in the episode where Ami first appears. Usagi and Luna are at the school using the computer and you can see those plastic plate thingies appear on Usagi's hair even though she's not transformed yet.

During "Moon Tiara Boomerang", Usagi's arms go through her pigtails every time she swings them around. Pretty strange, if you ask me.

I remember in one S episode (Japanese episode 93 "Usagi Yearns! The Elegant Genius Michiru" English episode 86 "Bad Harmony) when Sailor Moon is yelling at the daimon, there were some errors. They forgot the red jewels in her hair, and even drew hair lines. I can't screencap it because the DVD player is somehow coordinated with Paint, but it's sorta weird not to see the red jewels there.

Well, if it counts, then Luna being purple seems like a big one to me. Other than that, I can't say I've really noticed any others.

It's not really animation error, but in one of the SuperS episodes Luna comes into the Crown Parlor and starts talking to Usagi, INFRONT of Unazaki!

I thought that was so strange, did anyone from Toei even notice this?

During Mercury's Shabon Spray attack, part of her glove turns flesh-colored for a second when her arms are crossed...

Anyone notice how in the SS eyecatch, at the end when Sailormoon has her arms around Chibimoon and they do their little pose, Chibimoon's foot is drawn really weird 0__o; it's the one that's lifted up. It just looks.... like a stick (I can't really describe it).

Anywho, in the 2nd to last episode of R (i believe, not the preview of the S season), when you see Neo-Queen Serenity, King Endymion, and the 4 senshi standing behind them, Mercury doesn't have her tiara drawn on her.

I actually have a poster of this on my wall *looks up at it* and yep, there is DEFINATELY a missing tiara on Mercury.

It's when Mars throws Sailor Moon out of the way (of the Kiseian), and she rolls down the hill.

As she's rolling, in one frame her brooch is drawn as the one from the first season.

Another one is in the Sailor Moon R movie.

It's when Mars throws Sailor Moon out of the way (of the Kiseian), and she rolls down the hill.

As she's rolling, in one frame her brooch is drawn as the one from the first season.

^^; I did that to when I heard about it. Also in the R movie, there's the scene where Usagi's mouth is moving, but it's Fiore's voice. I didn't notice at first because I was watching the subtitles.

In the last episode of the second season when Rini goes back to the future, the future Sailor Mercury doesn't have her tiara on. I have a Wall Scroll of this scene and it shows the same thing. Which is very weird because Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus, and Sailor Jupiter have theirs. Sailor Moon doesn't have hers because in this scene she's Neo-Queen Serenity.

I have that poster too, actually...

There's an episode in R where the crescent moon appears on Sailor Moon's tiara in place of (or over) the jewel. I think it was the lightning one...

Another animation error I've noticed. In the episode of Sailor Moon S, where Yuuichiro's heart crystal is stolen, the girls are shown in Rei's room wearing their normal clothes. Then, when they find out that Yuuichiro is going to leave the Hikawa shrine and run after him, they're suddenly wearing their school uniforms.

I noticed that one, also, and have been trying to figure that one out since I first saw it.

One I caught was in the last episode of Sailor Moon R, when Sailor Mars is holding Chibi-Usa and the camera is showing Chibi-Usa's face up close, the part of Sailor Mars's glove that is showing in the background is not red like it should be, but is white instead.

I"m not sure if this is an animation error or a subbing error. It could be either, depending on how you look at it. Perhaps someone who knows Japanese a bit more than I can help, to see if it's a subbing error?

In the SMS movie, the girls are standing outside Rei's Temple, roasing sweet potatoes. One of them (i forget which) proceeds to say:

"Did you find anything out about our new foe, Luna?" (or something along that lines, but in the subs, luna's name IS at the end, as though she's asking luna a question)

Then, Artemis and Minako run up, and Artemis looks around and says "...Where's Luna?"

Either the subbers messed up, and meant to put "Did Luna find anything out about our new foe?" OR the animators forgot to draw poor luna in, didn't include her in the next scene when artemis shows up, and therefore had Artemis ask "where's luna?"

I don't think anyone has posted this one yet, so I will. Anyone ever notice that in the very first OP from the first season, Mars has two stripes on the top part of her sailor outfit, and sometimes she has one? I think this also happens a couple times in the anime too, but I can't think of what episodes, I just know it does. She's supposed to have one strip. Although in the manga she actually had three.

Since Ami asks and then Artemis shows up asking where Luna is, it's funny if Artemis intended to ask about Ami's sanity.
