Avatar vs. Real Life?

Note: Putting it here is just a guess, since it's about forum avatars.

Since I can't see the people who are posting, I often imagine them to look like their avatars, unless their avatar is of an inanimate object or has more than one person in it. Then I just change my idea when they change their avatar. Has anyone else noticed themselves doing this?

Ha ha, by the way, I don't really look that much like Yaten, I just like her character. If I were to pick an avatar character who I more resemble, I would have a Haruka/Sailor Uranus one, since I have short dark blond hair like her (except it's more in an Ami style and I wear glasses, not to mention my brown eyes).

Actually, though, Yaten and I are the same height.

I try not to imagine that people look like there avatars, I know I sertainly don't, but everyonce in a while I'll catch myself thinking that they acctually look like that. It's especailly hard when people have pictures of real people other than themselves, like a pick of Naoko.

This is also why I usually try to keep my avatars with the same style and look.

So what about people who use avatars with a character of the opposite sex?

I'm male BTW in case you were wondering and I don't look a thing like Sailor Mars. I just use her pic cause she's my favorite senshi and possibly my favorite anime character.

I admit that I sometimes start to identify people by their avatars, and then I catch myself doing a double-take when people change them. I know it's kind of crazy for me to do that, considering I look nothing like my avatar. …wish I did though… ^_^;

Cool...I wonder if other people once thought I was a giant, backstabbing robot back in the day (link). Personally, I'd find it quite amusing if Dan did, indeed, look like a hyper-active Minako all the time ^^;

As it happens, I'm not female either, but I DID dress as Sailor Mars one Halloween. I have to give women mad props for being able to walk in high-heels.

Hmm ... I've never really thought of it that way. As for me, I look nothing like my avatar. Asuka has long red hair and blue eyes while I have short dark brown hair and green/brown eyes.

I did that alot too, imagining it avatar's doing the talking. I always loved seeing everyone's different characters they used. Frankly, I thought Jeff did look like Touga because his comments always seemed to be as cool as the avatar.

I don't look a thing like mine. but that's how I envision an Empress of Dreams and stars to look like. or at least the closest I could come.
