Sailor Moon on Toei Poll (8/13/07)

Post by MarioKnight » Mon Aug 13, 2007 9:29 pm

Thanks to Genvid for the heads up. It would appear that Toei has asked ANN to host a survey to see what titles American fans would like to see available on Video on Demand in its subtitled form. This survey, which you can get to by clicking here, has Sailor Moon, as well as many other options listed. Currently, Sailor Moon has more votes than any other show by far, but more votes will never hurt, and show Toei that there is still a viable future for Sailor Moon on this side of the ocean.

So this is another piece of the potential puzzle for a possible rebirth of Sailor Moon in America. In March, Sailor Moon was added to Toei's AnimeBB package in Japan, not to mention to a new "unlimited" package last week. Then months later we learned from Geneon that the anime rights are frozen, and TokyoPop said basically the same thing with the manga rights. Now we have Toei wanting opinions from American fans what shows they would like to see come over here and Sailor Moon is on that list. This raises a lot of questions about how the series would be treated if it were to come over, but right now it's important to let Toei know that the fans want the show back and to have our voices heard. I encourage everyone to vote for Sailor Moon on the poll, as well as any other shows you see on there you like. We've been given a chance to have our voices heard, let's take full advantage of it.

:D So far, the odds are looking good for the anime, being the highest one on the poll. :D Let's hope it stays that way. :D

Where are all the people who mess with the votes on American Idol? They could prove to be useful here.

Do think maybe, just maybe, if there was a rebirth in the Sailormoon franchise in North America it may lead to not only new DVDs and Manga, but also a re-release of the dolls and RPG toys? Because Peach would seriously explode with joy if it meant adding to her RPG toy collection. We're talking an explosion radius of 150 miles here.

I was just about to make a topic about this... maybe this thread could be bumped up to a global announcement? The poll will probably only last a week and it would really help if everyone at this forum voted (and got the word out to other sites).

I was originally directed to that poll by a friend who made me vote for Digimon, but I tossed in a Sailor Moon vote when I saw it on the list. It being there made me very happy.

Anubi: Oh God.
Anubi: I just saw Mog/Terra hentai.
Kari: XDDDDDDDDDDDD
Anubi: My life is snow scarred.
Kari: ooooo, snow
Anubi: Oo, fun.
Anubi: SNOW SCARRED.
Anubi: WHOO.

I was going to look at the site but for some reason, it wouldn't let me through. A broken link maybe?

Voted! For Sailor Moon of course. It looks like Sailor Moon is doing THE best out of anything else that's up there. Hopefully this helps out with something, but unfortunately, I haven't got Video on Demand....

I voted for Sailor Moon, Digimon, Pretty Cure, and Galaxy Express 999. Although I wish if Toei is so concerned about their American fanbase that they would finish up their release of Saint Seiya before they worry about other shows. And I hope Toei doesn't allow any North American companies to screw up their other classic shows with any widescreen shit like Funi did with DBZ.

Now, is this poll talking about the original Japanese version? Or one of the English dubs? Just curious ^^;

It says on the page for the poll that it's subtitled in English.

That's the first time I heard any major news on the series for along time. I voted Sailormoon.

Results are in, and Sailor Moon has gotten the most votes! Time will tell what will come of this, but considering that this was an official Toei poll, this should be a good sign of things to come. Let's see what comes of this.

I hope someone hurries up and post how us US fans can go around getting the episodes.
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.
