Another thing that annoyed me in general was why does it have to be Usagi the one to land the fatal blow to the monster? Are the Senshi not powerful enough to destroy monsters?

Well Usagi is a teenage girl and like girls her age they do fantasize on other guys while having a boyfriend.

Unsure. I watched both PGSM, anime, and read the manga. Even if it was digitally re-mastered with all the fancy CG, I already know how the story goes.
